Angela Tomasa Bofill (born May 3, 1954) is an American R&B and jazz singer and songwriter.
Angela Bofill was born to a Cuban father and an Afro Puerto Rican mother. Growing up, listening to latin music, she was also inspired by the African-American performers in those days. During her childhood, her weekends were taken up studying classical music and singing in a city chorus. It was as a teenager that her professional singing began. She performed with Ricardo Marrero & the Group and Dance Theater of Harlem chorus prior to being introduced to Dave Grusin and Larry Rosen (of the jazz label GRP Records) by her friend, the jazz flautist Dave Valentin. Grusin and Rosen signed Bofill and produced her first album, Angie, in 1978. Angie was well received both critically and commercially and included the chart single "This Time I'll Be Sweeter" (co-written by Gwen Guthrie), as well as Bofill's sprawling jazz composition, "Under the Moon and Over the Sky". Less than a year later, a second album, Angel of the Night was released and outperformed its predecessor. The album included the chart singles "What I Wouldn't Do (For the Love of You)" and the up tempo title track, as well as the self-written song "I Try" (covered by Will Downing in 1991). The reception of these albums positioned Bofill as one of the first Latina singers to find success in the R&B and jazz markets.
Let Me Be The One is the sixth album by Angela Bofill, released by Arista Records in 1984.
Let Me Be the One was produced by David Frank and Mic Murphy who, at the time, were enjoying much success as The System. Let Me Be the One was much more synth-heavy R&B flavored than her earlier jazz-oriented works. The title song reached #84 on the Billboard R&B Chart.
Be the One is the second studio album by Jackie Jackson, released on September 9, 1989. The musicians included Paul Jackson, Jr., Jeff Lorber, Robert Brookins and Gerald Albright.
"Be the One" is a song by English duo The Ting Tings from their debut album, We Started Nothing (2008). Originally slated for release on 6 October 2008, the song was ultimately released on 13 October 2008 as the album's fifth single.
The music video premiered on 10 September 2008 on handbag.com. It begins with Katie White waking up in a hospital, appearing to not know how she got there and sneaking out. White is joined by Jules De Martino while walking down a back street with their friends following them wanting to hang out, but White and De Martino refuse. Also following them are large screens showing their movements. In the end, they meet up and soon drive off in a black and white car. It is soon revealed that the entire video is set in a studio in Chicago.
"Be the One" is BoA's 12th Japanese solo single. Due to the popularity of the song from her third Japanese album, Love & Honesty, it was released as a special single. Containing only one song, one remix and one instrumental track. The single reached #15 on Oricon Singles Charts. It is featured as a bonus track for the Samurai Warriors 1 Soundtrack.

Baby, listen to me please
I've been dreamin' about you every night
Now that you are here with me
All I wanna do is hold you tight
Now take me in your arms
I've waited for so long
Let me be the one
Ooh, please don't deny my heart
Everything I want
Let me be the one
Baby, if you only knew
All the times I've loved you in my mind
And if you let my dreams come true
I promise you it's gonna feel alright
Oh, now take me in your arms
I've waited for so long
Let me be the one
Ooh, please don't deny my heart
Everything I want
Let me be the one
Now take me in your arms
I've waited for so long
Let me be the one
Baby, please don't deny my heart
Everything I want
Let me be the one
Oh, baby
Oh...oh...oh...oh...baby
