Ang Panday (English: The Blacksmith) is a 2009 Filipino action fantasy film that adapts Carlo J. Caparas' Panday comics. It was directed by Rico Gutierrez and Mac Alejandre, the film adaptation stars Ramon "Bong" Revilla, Phillip Salvador and Iza Calzado. It was released in December 25, 2009.
Revilla previously starred as a version of the title character, Flavio the blacksmith, in the film Dugo ng Panday (Blood of the Blacksmith, 1993). Phillip Salvador, who plays the antagonist Lizardo, portrayed Flavio in a television series adaptation of Ang Panday (2005).
Long ago, the evil wizard Lizardo (Phillip Salvador) sent an army of monsters to subjugate the land and its people. Lizardo succeeded, but a prophecy tells of a comet that will fall to Earth, and a man who will wield a weapon that will free the people from Lizardo’s tyranny. Flavio (Bong Revilla Jr.) is a blacksmith content with living a quiet, uneventful life in a town mostly untouched by Lizardo’s evil. But when the comet of prophecy lands on the outskirts of town, Flavio’s destiny is immediately made clear. Around the peace-loving but brave Flavio. His arch-enemy Lizardo attempts to ruin the peace and harmony of their dwelling place, affecting the inhabitants. Moreover, the evil warlord challenges Flavio by capturing his beautiful lady love Maria (Iza Calzado). A series of events take place, bringing the blacksmith (panday) at the forefront of a full-blown war against Lizardo’s troops.
Panday 2 (also known as Panday Ang Ikalawang Yugto) is a 2011 Filipino fantasy film directed by Mac Alejandre. Starring Ramon 'Bong' Revilla Jr., Marian Rivera, Phillip Salvador, and Eddie Garcia, the film was entered in the 2011 Metro Manila Film Festival. It was released in theaters nationwide on December 25, 2011 by GMA Films and Imus Productions.

The pilot episode of the first book (Panday: Unang Yugto) aired on November 7, 2005 and ended with its last episode on December 9, 2005. The second book (Panday: Ang Ikalawang Yugto) aired its pilot episode on April 3, 2006 and ended with the series finale on May 26, 2006. The series is based on the fictional comics character of the same name, which was created by Carlo J. Caparas and illustrated by Steve Gan.
A meteor crashes into the desert of Sto. Sepulcro. The town blacksmith, Flavio, forges a dagger and a churchbell from the remains of the meteor. He uses the dagger to fight off the evil Sombra Oscura, who constantly attacks the town. By some mystical power, the dagger transforms into a great sword every time Flavio wields it.
In his final battle against evil, the Panday faces off against Lizardo, the son of Rodgin and the leader of the Sombras. The battle is intense, but Flavio prevails in the end, vanquishing Lizardo.
