Andy Tennant

Andy Tennant (born 1955) is an American screenwriter, film and television director, and dancer.

Life and career

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Tennant was raised in Flossmoor, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. His father was Don Tennant, a legendary creative advertising talent with Leo Burnett Agency in Chicago. As a boy, he spent his summers on Old Mission Peninsula in northern Michigan and at Camp Minocqua in northern Wisconsin. He graduated from Homewood-Flossmoor High School in 1973. He studied theater under John Houseman at University of Southern California.

Tennant's first acting role in a motion picture was in 1980 as a college student, Melio, on an all-night scavenger hunt in a surreal film, Midnight Madness which cameo'd cowboy-hatted Pee Wee Herman as a pin ball arcade manager; Andy's first big break in films came when he was cast as a dancer and chorus member in the movies Grease and Grease 2.

Tennant is married. He and his wife have four children, three of whom are triplets.

Andy Tennant (cricketer)

Andrew McBlain "Andy" Tennant (born 17 February 1966) is a former Scottish cricketer who played a number of matches for the Scottish national side. He has since served in a variety of coaching and administrative roles with Cricket Scotland, including as acting head coach for a period of time.

Born in Ayr and educated at Prestwick Academy, Tennant first appeared for Scotland on a 1993–94 tour of Zimbabwe, having previously appeared regularly for a Scotland B team. A left-arm orthodox spinner, he played two matches at List-A level, and a further three at first-class level. His two List A matches came during the 1996 English season: one against Yorkshire in the Benson & Hedges Cup, in which he took 2/29 from ten overs, and the other against Durham in the NatWest Trophy, in which he went wicketless. Tennant's matches at first-class level all came in the annual series against Ireland, in which he participated in 1996, 1999, and 2000. He took nine wickets in these matches – his best figures, 3/28, came in the 1996 fixture, and included two stumpings by Alec Davies. At club level, Tennant played for the Prestwick Cricket Club, which from 1999 played in the new Scottish National Cricket League (SNCL).

Andrew "Andy" Tennant (born 9 March 1987) is an English professional track and road racing cyclist who rides for the WIGGINS team.

Biography

Born in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, UK, Tennant began to make his mark on the cycling world as a junior rider. In 2005 he was selected for British Cycling's Olympic Development Programme and lived in Tuscany, Italy with the GB squad in 2006. Tennant represented England in the points race at the 2006 Commonwealth Games. The following season he overtrained, and his results suffered as a consequence. Tennant is currently a member of British Cycling's Olympic Academy.

Whilst riding for Team Halfords Bikehut in 2009, he was mentored by Rob Hayles.

In 2015 Tennant moved to the new WIGGINS team set up by Bradley Wiggins aiming to prepare British riders for the team pursuit at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
