Andy Holt (footballer, born 1978)

Andrew "Andy" Holt (born 21 April 1978, Stockport, Greater Manchester) is an English former professional footballer who last played as a defender for Corby Town.

Career

Oldham Athletic

Holt started his career at Oldham Athletic where he stayed for six years, playing 114 times and scoring 10 goals. Holt sufficiently impressed Hull City during a loan spell, who paid £150,000 to secure his services. He came up through the club's centre of excellence.

Hull City and Wrexham

His career at Hull City was quite good to start; he played 30 times in his first season. However, the following year, he found himself surplus to requirements, first loaned out to Barnsley and then Shrewsbury Town. In the 2003–04 season, only starting six of his 25 games that season. He found himself moving to Wrexham on a free transfer. At Wrexham, he played 86 matches, scoring on 10 occasions. At the end of his two-year contract, he got offered a deal by League One side Northampton Town, allowing him to prove himself in the next league up.

Andy Holt (Tennessee politician)

Andy Holt (born December 22, 1981) is an U.S. politician who serves in the Tennessee General Assembly, representing District 76. Holt is a Republican and currently serves as the vice-chair of the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee and as a member of the Local Government Committee and of the Agriculture and Natural Resources Subcommittee.

Holt represents the residents of Weakley, Obion, and part of Carroll County. He served his first term in Tennessee’s 107th General Assembly (2011-2012) and was re-elected to the 108th General Assembly (2013-2014).

Personal

Andy Holt is married to Ellie Anderson Holt, with whom he has five children. The Holts own and operate a farm near Dresden, Tennessee. Their farming operation includes “contract swine finishing” and raising cattle and goats for meat production.

Holt also works for Bethel University and is a member of the Weakley County Farm Bureau Board of Directors.

Representative Holt is a member and deacon at Long Heights, Baptist Church in McKenzie, Tennessee.
