Amjad Ali Shah

Amjad Ali Shah (Hindi: अमजद अली शाह, Urdu: مجد علی شاہ‎) (b. c. 1801 – d. 13 February 1847) was the fourth King of Oudh from 7 May 1842 to 13 February 1847.

Administration

His reign began in May 1842. His administration was responsible for a new bridge over the river Gomti and a metalled road from Lucknow to Kanpur. He also built the Hazratganj and Aminabad Bazar, major shopping markets in Lucknow.

Death

He died of cancer on 13 February 1847 at the age of 47 years. He is buried at Imambara Sibtainabad in the western part of Hazratganj, Lucknow. He was succeeded by his son Wajid Ali Shah.

Amjad Ali (politician)

Amjad Ali is a Fiji Indian politician. In the House of Representatives he represented the Nadi Urban Indian Communal Constituency, one of 19 reserved for Indo-Fijians, from 1999 to 2006, having held the seat for the Fiji Labour Party (FLP) in the general elections of 1999 and 2001. At the 2006 general election, he transferred to the Nadi Open Constituency and held it for the FLP.

On 19 May 2000, He was among the 43 members of the People's Coalition Government, led by Mahendra Chaudhry, taken hostage by George Speight and his band of rebel Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) soldiers from the Counter Revolutionary Warfare Unit. He was released on 13 July 2000 after 56 days of captivity.

He had made an unsuccessful attempt to win the Nadi Urban Indian Communal seat in the 1994 general elections, losing to his National Federation Party opponent.

Ali's political career came to an end with the mililtary coup that took place on 5 December 2006.

Syed Amjad Ali (Urdu: سید امجد علی‎), CIE, OBE (1907 – 5 March 1997) was a Pakistani civil servant who served at many portfolios in the Government of Pakistan. The positions he held include Pakistan's Ambassador to the U.S. (1953–55), Finance Minister of Pakistan (1955–58), and Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the United Nations (1964–67).

He was appointed an OBE in 1936 and a CIE in 1944.

Ali (singer)

Cho Yong-Jin (Korean: 조용진), famously known as Ali (stylized as ALi), is a South Korean singer-songwriter famous for her work on Korean pop music in the early twenty-first century. Her stage name is a motif from Muhammad Ali. This is so that it can be engraved easily by the masses. Following her debut in 2009, she is primarily known for her strong vocals and her time as a contestant on the KBS program Immortal Songs 2.

Career

Following her debut in 2009, she had already gained fame for her appearances on music shows, most notably Immortal Songs 2 on KBS2. She also worked as a professor in applied musical arts at the Seoul Technical Arts College.

ALi released her first album SOULri in December 2011 which was strangely two years after her official debut. One released track, "Na Young", garnered immediate controversy as its lyrics referenced a case of sexual assault that had been a very public case in South Korea, with many detractors criticizing the song to be insensitive to its subject. ALi would later address this controversy by revealing that she herself was a survivor of sexual assault.
