Amin

Amin (Arabic أمين) is a given name for males meaning trustworthy. Alternative spellings include Ameen, Amien and Amine, the last being mainly Francophone. (The given name is not to be confused with the word "Āmīn," that is, "Amen.") Amin appears as a common given name among Muslims.

The female equivalent of Amin is Amina or Ameena, which is a widely used name among female Arabs.

    Anak Mindanao is a party-list in the Philippines, based in Mindanao In the 2004 elections for the House of Representatives the party-list got 269,750 votes (2.1204% of the Philippine vote) and one seat (Mujiv Hataman). In the 14 May 2007 election, the party won 1 seat in the nationwide party-list vote.

    "Amin" (Greek: Αμήν; English: Amen) is a rare single released by Greek pop singer Anna Vissi in 1995. The single featured "Amin" which later appeared on the repackaged edition of her popular album Re!, as well as the track "Eleni", which Anna Vissi dedicated to her fan Eleni Karkanta. Music and lyrics for both tracks are by Nikos Karvelas.

    Amin (Manchu: ; Chinese: 阿敏, 1585- Dec. 28, 1640) was a Manchu noble and an important military and political leader in the early years of the Qing dynasty.

    Biography

    Family background

    He was the second son of Nurhaci's younger brother Šurhaci of the Aisin Gioro clan.

    Career

    Nurhaci's reign

    In 1608, and again in 1613, he played an important part in Nurhaci's campaign against the tribes of the Hūlun alliance, namely against Bujantai and the Ula tribe. At first he held the rank of a taiji (Mongolian rank of a minor prince). In 1616 when Nurhaci assumed the title of Khan, Amin was named as one of the Four Senior Beile to assist in the administration. In terms of seniority he held the rank of Second Beile, and was given command of the Bordered Blue Banner. He took part in 1619 in the Battle of Sarhū against the expeditionary force sent by the Ming Court under Yang Hao. In 1621 he fought bravely during the taking of Shenyang and Liaoyang and was of the commanders of the expedition which drove Mao Wenlong from Korea. In 1626, after the of death of Nurhaci and the succession of the Fourth Beile, Hong Taiji as khan, Amin and the other two Senior Beile, Daišan and Manggūltai, ruled jointly with Hong Taiji.

    Aming

    Aming is female Japanese pop/folk duo composed of Takako Okamura and Haruko Kato that debuted in 1982 with their hit "Matsu wa". However, they disbanded quickly, in November 1983.

    They have released a new album in 2007 titled "In the Prime" for the 25th anniversary.
