American Spirit (album)

American Spirit is an album released on American Gramaphone in 2003 (see 2003 in music) as a collaboration between Mannheim Steamroller and country musician C. W. McCall. The album focuses on American patriotic songs, hence the title. McCall contributed to a number of spoken word songs on the album and rerecorded his 1976 hit song "Convoy" for it; this was also the case with another song of his, "Wolf Creek Pass," which can be found on the album.

American Spirit (schooner)

American Spirit is a 65-foot gaff-rigged, steel-hulled schooner. She is owned and operated by the National Maritime Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C. and is used as a "floating classroom" for teaching District of Columbia-area students about sailing and maritime history. American Spirit is also used for excursion cruises and private charters.

Freya

The schooner was built on Cape Cod in 1991 by Steve Eldridge to designs by Frank Meigs of Brewster, Massachusetts. Meigs and his wife, Elaine, named the schooner Freya (the second vessel they owned by that name) and sailed her out of Sesuit Harbor (East Dennis, MA) and Islamorada (FL). as a charter vessel until she was listed for sale in the spring of 2003.

American Spirit Media

American Spirit Media, LLC is a broadcasting company based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Founded by Thomas B. Henson in 2003, it owns television stations in several cities in the Southeastern United States.

On November 27, 2013, American Spirit Media announced it would acquire KFVE and its satellites KGMV and KGMD-TV from MCG Capital Corporation. The stations are currently owned by MCG and operated by Raycom Media. A lawsuit was filed by Media Council Hawaii in 2014 to halt the transfer to American Spirit Media; consequently, as of January 31, 2016, the deal has yet to be consummated.

Operations

The company owns seven stations, which all are operated by Raycom Media through shared services and/or joint sales agreements.
