Alvin Brooks (born August 6, 1959) is a basketball coach and former head coach of the University of Houston's men's team. Prior to heading back to Houston, he most recently served as Director of Basketball Operations for the Kentucky Wildcats. He coached the Houston Cougars from 1993 to 1998. He also served as an assistant coach for the Texas Tech Red Raiders basketball team and was at Texas A&M through the '06-'07 season.
On July 23, 2007, a Lexington, KY media outlet reported that Brooks had been hired as an assistant coach by Billy Gillispie at the Kentucky Wildcats.
