All That Is Heavy

All That is Heavy (originally All That's Heavy) is an online music store based in Idaho and founded in 1997. It is the first online record store dedicated exclusively to the genres of stoner rock, doom metal, sludge metal, drone metal and psychedelic rock. All That is Heavy owns and operates MeteorCity Records, which was instrumental in the growth of the late 1990s stoner rock scene. Distributed labels, besides their in-house MeteorCity Records, include Tee Pee, Volcom Entertainment, Small Stone Records, Rise Above Records, and others. The store was operated by the now defunct StonerRock.com from 2001 to 2010, and is currently owned by Dan and Melanie Beland.

History

All That's Heavy was founded in September 1997 by Jadd Shickler (of band Spiritu) and Aaron Emmel in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Its first incarnation was an online store selling hard-to-find releases by stoner rock bands Kyuss, Monster Magnet, and Fu Manchu. They soon expanded the catalog to include artists that stylistically fit with the first three bands.

All That (season 10)

Season 10

The tenth and final season of All That aired from early 2005 until late 2005. The season aired 15 episodes, beginning with a special to celebrate the 10th anniversary. Approximately 6.2 million total viewers watched the special on both its April 23 and April 24 airings, making it the top cable or broadcast program for the 2-11, 6-11, and 9-14 age demographics.

Intro to the Show

The intro was similar to Season 4. It featured the cast on a red carpet, they come out of a limo and greet their fans.

Cast Changes

The show saw many changes before the start of the season. Shane Lyons and Giovonnie Samuels were both dropped from the show to make room for new cast members. Jamie Lynn Spears got her own show on Nickelodeon and left the show. Producers hired Kianna Underwood and Denzel Whitaker to replace them.

Lil' JJ

After a five-year absence the art of the featured player was brought back to the show. Lil' JJ was brought on as the feature player. Like the last season producers brought back Vital Information which had been absent since the 6th season. Producers got Lil' JJ to anchor the sketch. However, he would only appear in the sketch and not take part in any other part of the show.

All That (season 8)

The 8th season of All That is the second season of the Relaunch era. This season began in 2002 and ended in 2003 and was taped from very early 2002- late 2002.

The show saw many changes before the start of the season. Since season 7 was more of an experiment season, producers knew what worked and what didn't work with the show. Pickle Boy was taken out and only shown on rare occasions, and a formal green room was introduced. Like the first six seasons, the cast would start the show in the green room before starting the show. The intro was the same as the previous season, but with Spears edited in.

The entire cast from last season returned for their second on the show. Producers added Jamie Lynn Spears (credited as Jamie Spears) to the cast, who was also the young sister of singer Britney Spears, due to her interest in being on the show. Claims of nepotism arose from this, and ironically, Britney Spears would show up and host and perform in this season.

This would be the final season for Bryan Hearne. Hearne wished to leave the show so he could focus on his music career.

1066 and All That

1066 and All That: A Memorable History of England, comprising all the parts you can remember, including 103 Good Things, 5 Bad Kings and 2 Genuine Dates is a tongue-in-cheek reworking of the history of England. Written by W. C. Sellar and R. J. Yeatman and illustrated by John Reynolds, it first appeared serially in Punch magazine, and was published in book form by Methuen & Co. Ltd. in 1930.

Overview

The book is a parody of the style of history teaching in English schools at the time, in particular of Our Island Story. It purports to contain "all the History you can remember", and, in sixty-two chapters, covers the history of England from Roman times through 1066 "and all that", up to the end of World War I, at which time "America was thus clearly Top Nation, and history came to a ." The book is full of examples of half-remembered and mixed-up facts.

Although the subtitle states that the book comprises "103 Good Things, 5 Bad Kings and 2 Genuine Dates", the book's preface mentions that originally four dates were planned, but last-minute research revealed that two of them were not memorable. The two dates that are referenced in the book are 1066, the date of the Battle of Hastings and the Norman invasion of Britain (Chapter XI) and 55 BC, the date of the first Roman invasion of Britain under Julius Caesar (Chapter I). However, when the date of the Roman invasion is given, it is immediately followed by mention of the fact that Caesar was "compelled to invade Britain again the following year (54 BC, not 56, owing to the peculiar Roman method of counting)". Despite the confusion of dates the Roman Conquest is the first of 103 historical events in the book characterised as a Good Thing, "since the Britons were only natives at that time".
