Keren, formerly known as Cheren and Sanhit, is the second-largest city in Eritrea. It is situated around 91 kilometers northwest of Asmara, at an elevation of 1,390 meters from sea-level. The town sprawls on a wide basin surrounded by granitic mountains on all sides. It serves as the capital of the Anseba region, and is home to the Bilen ethnic group.
Keren grew around the Eritrean Railway to Asmara. The railway was later dismantled because of the war, although there are plans to rebuild it. It is an important commercial centre and was the scene of regular battles in both World War II and the Eritrean War of Independence. Keren was the site of a key battle between Italian and British troops in February – March 1941.
As of 2010, Keren has a population of around 146,483 inhabitants. Residents belong to various, mainly Afro-Asiatic-speaking ethnic groups, of which the Bilen and the Tigre are predominant. The Tigrinya also have a presence.
Keren's climate is semi-desert hot during summer and cold during winter. The rainy season extends from mid-June to mid-September. From October to February, the town experiences the cool winter season. The climate heats up from March to June, though the nights are pleasant.
Keren (外連(ケレン), lit. "outside party") are stagecraft tricks used in Japanese kabuki theater, making use of trapdoors, revolving stages, and other equipment.
Often translated as "playing to the gallery," many drama enthusiasts consider these sorts of adaptations to be demeaning to the art of kabuki. According to one scholar, "Rapid 'trick' appearances and disappearances of the actor are relatively few and are held in low esteem by the Kabuki connoisseur, who refers to them as keren (playing to the gallery)".
Alive is the debut solo album by former Live lead singer Ed Kowalczyk.
Kowalczyk entered the studio in early 2010 to record material that he began writing in 2008. He wrote songs for Alive with an acoustic guitar, as he had when he wrote for Live.
The lyrics on Alive feature much religious and spiritual imagery. Kowalczyk's acknowledgement of his faith is much more explicit on this album than it was on his work with Live. The album entered Billboard's Christian albums chart at number six.
The album entered the charts in the Netherlands, debuting at number four on the Dutch albums chart. It has also charted in the United States, Belgium, and Australia.

"Alive" is the debut solo single by Australian recording artist and actress Natalie Bassingthwaighte. It was released on 14 October 2008, as the first single from her debut solo album 1000 Stars. The song's musical-genre is pop and its lyrics describe being free, taking chances and making love. Upon its release, "Alive" peaked at number eight on the ARIA Singles Chart and was certified platinum by the Australian Recording Industry Association for sales exceeding 70,000 copies.
"Alive" was written by Bassingthwaighte, Arnthor Birgisson and Andrew Frampton in Los Angeles, during the last week Bassingthwaighte was writing songs for 1000 Stars. It was also her last writing session with Birgisson and Frampton. Bassingthwaighte stated that it was really hard to write "Alive" because they wanted to write something that was "just fun" because she felt a song like that was missing from the album. The music video was directed by Anthony Rose and features Bassingthwaighte dressed in multiple outfits and wigs.
"Alive" is a R&B song by American singer-songwriter Mýa. The track was produced by DJ Komori and UTA for Manhattan Records compilation album Exclusive 2000-2010 DECADE BEST. "Alive" was written by Lil Eddie, Deanna, and Harrison.
"Alive" was released September 22, 2010 in Japan via iTunes as the first single from Manhattan Records compilation album Exclusive 2000-2010 DECADE BEST and featured on Mýa's sixth studio album K.I.S.S.

I cannot ever find a away
To throw these darkened thoughts away
Need a place to hide
It's thrown in my face everyday
Guess that's the price I have to pay
For what's inside my mind
I'm alive
I'm alive
I'm alive
I'm alive
I'm alive
I'm alive
I'm alive
I'm alive
I am alive
I will never run away
Places inside
My heart screams inside with pride
Once I cried
Now I wipe away the tears
Once I died
Now I am alive
I'm alive
I'm alive
I'm alive
I'm alive
I'm alive
I'm alive
I'm alive
I'm alive
Little things tempt me everyday
Constant pain is how I like to play
Better not cross that line
Voices in my head happened to say
It's somethin' I can't throw away
What's inside my mind
I am alive
I will never run away
Places inside
My heart screams inside with pride
Once I cried
Now I wipe away the tears
Once I died
Now I'm alive
I bide my time
I'm intertwined
I'm fallin' in this place
I thought I left behind
I bide my time
I'm intertwined
I'm fallin' in this place
I thought I left behind
(Feelin' so alive)
I bide my time
I'm intertwined
I'm fallin' in this place
I thought I left behind
(Feelin' so alive)
I bide my time
I'm intertwined
I'm fallin' in this place
I thought I left behind
I'm alive
I'm alive
I'm alive
I'm alive
I am alive
I will never run away
Places inside
My heart screams inside with pride
Once I cried
Now I wipe away the tears
Once I died
