George H. W. Bush

George Herbert Walker Bush (born June 12, 1924) is an American politician who served as the 41st President of the United States (1989–93), and the 43rd Vice President of the United States (1981–89). A Republican, he previously served as a congressman, an ambassador, and Director of Central Intelligence. He is the oldest living former President and Vice President. He is also the last living former President who is a veteran of World War II. Bush is often referred to as "George H. W. Bush", "Bush 41", "Bush the Elder", or "George Bush Sr." to distinguish him from his son, former President George W. Bush. Prior to his son's presidency, he was known simply as George Bush or President Bush.

Bush was born in Milton, Massachusetts, to Prescott Bush and Dorothy Walker Bush. Following the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, Bush postponed college, enlisted in the U.S. Navy on his 18th birthday, and became the youngest aviator in the U.S. Navy at the time. He served until the end of the war, then attended Yale University. Graduating in 1948, he moved his family to West Texas and entered the oil business, becoming a millionaire by the age of 40.

Alive (Ed Kowalczyk album)

Alive is the debut solo album by former Live lead singer Ed Kowalczyk.

History

Kowalczyk entered the studio in early 2010 to record material that he began writing in 2008. He wrote songs for Alive with an acoustic guitar, as he had when he wrote for Live.

The lyrics on Alive feature much religious and spiritual imagery. Kowalczyk's acknowledgement of his faith is much more explicit on this album than it was on his work with Live. The album entered Billboard's Christian albums chart at number six.

The album entered the charts in the Netherlands, debuting at number four on the Dutch albums chart. It has also charted in the United States, Belgium, and Australia.

"Alive" is a R&B song by American singer-songwriter Mýa. The track was produced by DJ Komori and UTA for Manhattan Records compilation album Exclusive 2000-2010 DECADE BEST. "Alive" was written by Lil Eddie, Deanna, and Harrison.

"Alive" was released September 22, 2010 in Japan via iTunes as the first single from Manhattan Records compilation album Exclusive 2000-2010 DECADE BEST and featured on Mýa's sixth studio album K.I.S.S.

Alive (Meshuggah video)

Alive is a concert film by Swedish extreme metal band Meshuggah. The film was released as a double album (DVD with CD in digipak) through Nuclear Blast on February 5, 2010, in Europe and February 9, 2010, in North America.

Half of the film consists of the band performing songs on their obZen Tour during 2008–2009. This is intertwined with documentary-style clips of the members talking about their experiences in the band. Also on the DVD is "The Making of Bleed", a documentary on how the music video for "Bleed" was shot, along with the music video itself; and a "Drum Tour" and "Guitar Tour".

The cover is made to imitate the film poster for Alien.
