Alexis Texas

Alexis Texas (born May 25, 1985) is an American pornographic actress, director, and feature dancer. She first performed with Jack Venice in Shane's World's College Amateur Tour In Texas, filmed in October 2006, followed by several of scenes for Bang Bros in Florida. In 2010, she was named by Maxim as one of the 12 top female stars in porn. She has received several awards for her performances.

Early life

As a military brat, Texas was born on an Army base in Panama. She was raised in the San Antonio metropolitan area in Texas. She is of German, Norwegian, and Puerto Rican descent. Her first job was at a nursing home, where she worked as a personal care assistant. Prior to entering the adult film industry, she was attending college for respiratory care therapy.

Career

Texas' first scene was with Jack Venice in Shane's World's College Amateur Tour In Texas, filmed in October 2006, followed by several scenes for Bang Bros in Florida. She then moved to Los Angeles and began shooting scenes for the LA Direct modeling agency in March 2007. Released in February 2008, Discovering Alexis Texas was directed by the adult actress Belladonna.

Texas

Texas /ˈtɛksəs/ (Spanish: Texas or Tejas [ˈtexas]) is a state in the United States of America. It is the second most populous and second largest state by area in the US. Geographically located in the south central part of the country, Texas shares an international border with Mexico to the south and borders the states of New Mexico to the west, Oklahoma to the north, Arkansas to the northeast, and Louisiana to the east. Texas has an area of 268,820 square miles (696,200 km²) and a growing population of over 27.5 million residents (July 2015).

Dallas–Fort Worth and Greater Houston are the fourth and fifth largest United States metropolitan statistical areas, respectively. Other major cities include Austin (the state capital) and El Paso. Texas is nicknamed the Lone Star State to signify Texas as a former independent republic, and as a reminder of the state's struggle for independence from Mexico. The "Lone Star" can be found on the Texan state flag and on the Texan state seal. The origin of the state name, Texas, is from the word, "Tejas", which means 'friends' in the Caddo language.

The Texas (locomotive)

Western & Atlantic Railroad #49 "Texas" is a 4-4-0 "American" type steam locomotive built in 1856 for the Western & Atlantic Railroad by Danforth, Cooke & Co.. The Texas is widely known for being involved in the Great Locomotive Chase during the American Civil War as the engine that successfully pursued the General locomotive after it was stolen by Union saboteurs in an attempt to ruin the Confederate rail system. The locomotive is currently preserved at the Atlanta Cyclorama building within Grant Park in Atlanta, Georgia, and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. It will be restored and relocated to the Atlanta History Center in 2016.

Antebellum

The Texas was built in October 1856 for the Western & Atlantic Railroad by locomotive manufacturer Danforth, Cooke and Company in Paterson, New Jersey. It was subsequently shipped from Paterson to the Port of Savannah, traveled the Georgia Rail Road & Banking Company and Macon & Western Railroad, before finally being delivered to the W&A headquarters in Atlanta that same year.

Texas Homecare

Texas Homecare was a chain of DIY stores in the United Kingdom and Ireland, that operated from 1972 until 1999.

History

Texas Homecare was established in 1972, by Manny, Sydney and Gerald Fogel, who had previously founded the high street specialist paint and wallpaper chain Home Charm. Taking their lead from America, they revolutionised the United Kingdom DIY market, with the introduction of the 'DIY shed' style outlet. Mervyn Fogel, co-founder and managing director for over 25 years, had a vision of turning the small family business into a DIY retail empire.

Texas specialised in higher volume, lower margin DIY products. The company had been adversely affected, by a recession and depressed housing market.

Acquisition

With its acquisition, Homebase hoped to hold around 10% of the total DIY market in the United Kingdom. In May 1995, it was announced that only 26 Texas stores were to close, with limited redundancies. Sainsbury's found that full conversion to the Homebase format was an investment worth making, and allowed £50 million for the task.

Alexis (Spanish footballer)

José Alejandro Suárez Martín (born 6 March 1974), known as Alexis, is a Spanish retired footballer who played mainly as a central defender.

He amassed La Liga totals of 195 games and seven goals over the course of eight seasons, representing in the competition Tenerife, Levante and Valladolid.

Football career

Born in Las Palmas, Canary Islands, Alexis started playing professionally with hometown's UD Las Palmas, by then in Segunda División B. Subsequently he joined neighbours CD Tenerife, making his La Liga debuts in the 1995–96 season as the Chicharreros finished in fifth position.

After Tenerife's second top level relegation in four years, in 2002, Alexis played a further season with the club before signing for Levante UD, being instrumental in the Valencia side's 2004 promotion.

After another promotion and relegation with Levante he scored a rare goal in 2006–07, in a 1–0 away win against Recreativo de Huelva on 17 September 2006, being an undisputed first-choice throughout the top flight campaign (33 starts in 34 appearances, 2,979 minutes of action).

Alexis (footballer)

Alexis Ruano Delgado (born 4 August 1985), known simply as Alexis, is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for Turkish club Beşiktaş JK. Mainly a central defender, he can also operate as a full back.

He amassed La Liga totals of 269 games and 14 goals during 13 seasons, representing in the competition Málaga, Getafe (two spells), Valencia and Sevilla.

Club career

Málaga / Getafe

Born in Málaga, Alexis joined Getafe CF from Málaga CF for the 2006–07 season, for €2.5 million. He had played for the Andalusia club for three years, after having appeared in as many years with the B-team, two of those spent in the second division; he would first appear for the main squad on 15 February 2004, playing eight minutes in a 5–2 home win against RCD Espanyol.

Alexis scored the winning goal for Getafe against Real Madrid, in a 1–0 league home win on 14 October 2006, and was part of the league's best defence that season (only 33 goals in 38 games).

Valencia

Alexis' impressive performances for Getafe attracted some of the world's biggest clubs including A.C. Milan, Valencia CF, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. Valencia won his services and signed him to a €6.5 million deal at the Mestalla Stadium that ran until 2013, beating off competition from Real Madrid.
