Alandur Metro station is a station on Lines 1 and 2 of the Chennai Metro, which is currently under construction. The station is one of the two metro stations where Corridor I (Airport–Washermanpet) of the project will intersect with Corridor II (Chennai Central–St Thomas Mount via Egmore and CMBT), the other being the Chennai Central metro station. It is the city's first multi-level railway station. It is the only station where passengers from the two corridors can swap the direction of travel.
As the station acts as a transit point for two different corridors of the Chennai Metro, the two lines are constructed at two different levels at the station—the first one serving the line from Guindy towards Officers Training Academy (OTA) and Chennai airport and the second one for the line from St. Thomas Mount towards CMBT. The two levels are being built at 26.55 m and 35.41 m within the station, connected by means of escalators. Each levels will have two access points for entry and exit. A mezzanine floor—an intermediate level between ground floor and level I—is being built to be utilised for maintenance purpose.
Don't it make you sad
To lose the things you love
For what you never had?
Don't it make you cry
To feel the broken tie
And always wonder why?
Don't it make you feel
Like your hands are off the wheel?
Like your hands are off the wheel
Don't it tear you down?
Don't it turn your world around?
Don't it love to let you down?
Don't it make your day
To gather up your strength
And feel it slipping away?
How much can you take
Before you fall apart,
Before you start to break?
Close your eyes its only
No surprise you're not alone
Don't it make you sad
To lose the ones you love?
Don't it make you feel
Like its tearing you down?
