Alan David Halsall (born 11 August 1982) is an English actor known for playing Tyrone Dobbs in Coronation Street, a role which he has played since 1998.
Halsall was brought up in Walkden, Salford and attended Walkden High School.
Halsall has been in Coronation Street since November 1998, but had previously appeared in a variety of television shows including Heartbeat, Hetty Wainthropp Investigates and Queer As Folk (1999). He also featured in the CITV four-part series Matt's Million.
Halsall won the 2013 National Television Awards Outstanding Serial Drama Performance award for his role on Coronation Street.
Halsall is married to former Coronation Street and Wild at Heart actress, Lucy-Jo Hudson. They met on set and began dating in 2005. They married on 13 June 2009 in Cheshire. On 18 February 2013, via Twitter, the couple announced they were expecting their first child, a baby girl. On 8 September 2013, Hudson gave birth to their daughter, 9 days after her due date, named Sienna-Rae.
Alan Halsall (born 17 November 1940) was an association football goalkeeper who played in The Football League for Blackpool and Oldham Athletic. He moved to Wigan Athletic in 1964, making 150 appearances for the club in the Cheshire League. He made a further three appearances in the inaugural Northern Premier League season before leaving the club in 1969.

Halsall is a village and civil parish in West Lancashire, England, located close to Ormskirk on the A5147 and Leeds and Liverpool Canal. As of 2011, the parish has a population of 2,057 and covers an area of 2,801 hectares (28.01 km2; 10.81 sq mi). The church and much of the village stand on a rocky ridge, in marked contrast to the low-lying flat peat mossland between the ridge and the sand of Ainsdale and Birkdale.
In Halsall there is one church dedicated to St. Cuthbert, which dates from the 14th century, the Rector is the Rev. Paul Robinson. There is a junior school, St Cuthbert's Church of England Primary School with around 140 pupils from age 4 to 11. The Saracen's Head is a large public house on the banks of the canal. There is also a post office, a garage, a financial adviser office (in what used to be the Halsall Arms public house) and a phone box. Halsall now has a pharmacy, situated by the playing fields. The central feature in the village is the war memorial located in front of the church on what is now a traffic island.
