Al Ahli Club (Arabic: النادي الأهلي‎) is a United Arab Emirates professional association football club based in Dubai. The club is abbreviated as A.C..

Al Ahli is one of the most successful clubs in the UAE. Al Ahli, literally translating to "national" in Arabic, was established in 1970, when three local teams joined together to form the club. The club won three UAE Arabian Gulf League titles in the 1970s and won its fourth in 2006, fifth in 2009 and sixth in 2014.

History

Establishment

The club was established in 1970, when two local football teams Al Wehdah and Al Shabab (est. 1962) joined together, and then four years later another local team Al Najah joined to form Al Ahli Club.

Crest and Nickname

The original Al Ahli logo reflected a falcon on top of football and the words "Al Ahli Club" written horizontally. After rebranding themselves to Red Knights in 2006, the logo changed to a horse head shape with the letters A C (Al Ahli Club) on top. The new logo represents strength and high spirits also it goes along with the new nickname Red Knights instead of the old nickname the Red Devils.

Al-Ahli Club Sana'a

Al-Ahli Club Sana'a (Arabic: النادي الأهلي صنعاء‎) is a Yemeni football club based in Sana'a, Yemen. The club was founded in 1952.

Al-Ahli has a fierce rivalry with local rivals Al-Wehda which manifests itself in the Al-Wahda versus Al-Ahli matches, known as "the Summit".

Al-Fujairah SC

Al Fujairah S. C. (literally the Fujairah Sports Club) (Arabic: الفجيرة‎) is a football & sports club based in the Emirate of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). They play in the UAE Arabian Gulf League.

As of 2012/13 season they were playing in the Division 1 - Group A league.

Fujairah won the right to be in the Emirati premier professional league (Asian Gulf League) at the end of the 2012-2013 season. At the start of the 2014-2015 they began the first ever match in the AGL, ending the season in April 2015 in 9th place of the 14 teams in AGL. Madjid Bougherra, long time centreback and for the past 3 years captain of the Fennecs, Algeria's national football team, will be starting his 2nd season with Fujairah in August of 2015 in the Defense and also continuing in his role as Captain of this Emirati team.
