After The Lights is the fifth album of Sweetbox and the fourth album with Jade Villalon as frontwoman. It was released in 2004 in Japan. On various online stores, the CD is listed as Sweetbox Presents a Very Sweet X-Mas, although only 4 songs on the album are Christmas carols.
In 2005, two different versions of the album were released in Korea, with one version being a special two-disc Christmas edition. The 3rd edition was called 13 Chapters, but was an album composed of the more popular songs from both Adagio and After the Lights. The album saw a shift in the lyrical style of Jade's writing, this time showcasing many songs written in 3rd person fashion, involving tales of lovers or people dealing with personal struggle, instead of a 1st person approach. The songs also were all based on original musical compositions written by Jade and Geo, with the exception of the holiday carols.
All songs written and composed by Geoman and Jade Villalon, except where noted.
The 'Lights was a daily morning sports highlights program on NBC Sports Network that launched in August 2012. Designed as an alternative to ESPN's SportsCenter, unseen anchor David Diamante narrated the previous day's games and highlights in a half-hour loop. An on-screen sidebar provided information, stats, and comments relevant to the game being highlighted.
Its time-slot expanded from 7-9 AM to 6-9 AM Eastern Time during its short run.
The program was placed on hiatus during the Stanley Cup Playoffs and was scheduled to be re-tooled to re-air in late August 2013. It later was removed from the schedule entirely. Its replacement was a loop of fitness programming under NBC Universal's digital Radius brand, which aired six times in three hours.
The Lights are an independent rock band from Seattle, WA formed in 1998. They mainly tour in the Pacific Northwest, especially in and around Seattle. Their last national tour was their West Coast tour in the fall of 2006. They made KEXP's Top 90.3 of 2006 and were the winners of The Stranger's 2004 "Best Band in Seattle" contest. Guitarist and vocalist Craig Chambers also plays guitar for Love Tan. Drummer PJ Rogalski also plays for Unnatural Helpers. Local Seattle newspaper The Stranger called them "one of this city's top eclectic-sounding talents."
When you come home from the hospital,
Let me be the first to welcome you.
Arms outstretched, holding my sincerest apology,
I've been waiting to tell you
All the things I was too scared to say before,
How your smile wears me out, how I'm better off having
known you.
And I will never take you for granted.
And I will never take you for granted.
Come back.
Come back to us.
Please get better.
I want you to smother me,
Close enough to feel your weight crashing in to me.
Feel the air getting warmer.
Come back to us.
Come back to us.
I long for the time when ships would fill the harbor.
Come back.
Come back.
Come back.
Come back.
Tonight, of you and I, walking these streets, dark, after
the lights go out.
