Aer Lingus

Aer Lingus, /ˌɛər ˈlɪŋɡəs/ (an anglicisation of the Irish Aer Loingeas meaning "air fleet") describes itself as the "national airline" of Ireland. It is the second largest airline in Ireland. Aer Lingus is owned by IAG, the parent company of British Airways, Iberia and Vueling. It operates an all Airbus aircraft fleet serving Europe, North Africa, Turkey and North America. The airline's head office is on the grounds of Dublin Airport in Cloghran, County Dublin, Ireland.

Formed in 1936, Aer Lingus is a former member of the Oneworld airline alliance, which it left on 31 March 2007; however, after the takeover by the International Airlines Group it is expected that Aer Lingus will re-enter Oneworld sometime in 2016. The airline has codeshares with Oneworld, Star Alliance and SkyTeam members, as well as interline agreements with Etihad Airways, JetBlue Airways and United Airlines. Aer Lingus has a hybrid business model, operating a mixed fare service on its European and North African routes and full service, two-class flights on transatlantic routes.

Aer (Sendai)

Aer (アエル, aeru) is a skyscraper in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. Rising 31 stories to a height of 145.5 m, Aer is the tallest building in the Tohoku region and was partially constructed by robots.

Overview

Aer is a mixed used complex built as a part of the redevelopment of the west side of Sendai Station. Floors 1 to 4 are occupied by retail businesses, including chains such as Uniqlo and Maruzen. Floors 5, 6, and 7 are occupied by municipal government offices, while floors 8 through 30 are occupied by commercial offices. Located on the 31st floor are a free observation deck, and Heichinro, an expensive Chinese restaurant chain. A unique feature of this building is that it was partially constructed by robots.

The top floor was assembled with a lattice of overhead rails. It was jacked up and the first floor was then constructed. This process was repeated until the building stood at its full height. Robots welded, located columns and beams, pored and leveled concrete. The postal codes 980-61xx are reserved for this building, with xx indicating the floor of the building. Postal codes of 32 and higher are available to specific clients.

Aer (band)

Aer is a young indie US band consisting of David von Mering and Carter Schultz. The duo hail from Wayland, a small town in the suburbs West of Boston. They first gained popularity with their debut studio album, The Bright Side in 2012, which reached #85 on the US Billboard 200. Their second self-titled album, Aer (2014), reached #26 a year and a half later. Their newest album, One Of A Kind was released on August 14, 2015.

Early career

Von Mering, who was born in Portland, Oregon and first grew up in Davis, California met Schultz in elementary school in their hometown of Wayland, Massachusetts After their first band broke up in Junior Year of High School, they struck out on their own to create their own brand of music. Their mixtape Water On The Moon came out in 2010, followed by the mixtape The Reach in May 2011. Their EP What You Need followed suit later that year.

After graduating from Wayland High School the two moved to Boston and began to work full-time on their first full-length album The Bright Side, which they released in the summer of 2012. The album reached #85 on the Billboard 200. It was followed by the Strangers EP in 2013. The duo released their self-titled second album on January 21, 2014. The album reached #26 on the Billboard Chart.
