Version 1

Version 1 is an international management consulting, managed services, software development, and outsourcing company. Established in 1996 by Justin Keatinge and John Mullen, its registered headquarters are in Dublin, Ireland.

History

Formation

Established in Dublin, Ireland in 1996 by CEO Justin Keatinge and John Mullen, Version 1 began with two employees and revenues of €60,000. By the following year, Version 1 had five employees and revenues of €300,000. By the end of 1999, Version 1 had 16 employees; had branched into the UK market; and achieved revenues of €1m. In 2000, Version 1 established their Managed Services practice and, in 2002, was listed in the Deloitte & Touche Ireland Technology Fast 50. By the end of 2006, Version 1 had more than 100 employees and reached annual revenues of €10m.

In the years leading up to 2011, Version 1 acquired Prose Software; appointed Anthuan Xavier Chairman; acquired PM Centrix; opened their Cork, Ireland office; became the first Oracle Platinum Partner in Ireland; was named in the Deloitte Fast 50; employed more than 150 professionals; and reached annual revenues of €17.5m.

Matt Hardy

Matthew Moore Hardy (born September 23, 1974) is an American professional wrestler currently signed with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), where he is the current TNA World Heavyweight Champion in his second reign. He is best known for his work in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), later renamed to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

Matt (with brother Jeff) gained notoriety in WWE's tag team division due to their participation in Tables, Ladders, and Chairs matches. As a tag team wrestler, Hardy is a nine-time world tag team champion, having held six World Tag Team Championships, one WWE Tag Team Championship, one WCW Tag Team Championship, and one TNA World Tag Team Championship.

Apart from his success as a tag team wrestler, Hardy is a three-time world champion, having held the TNA World Heavyweight Championship twice and the ECW Championship once. He has also won the WWE's United States, European, Hardcore, and Cruiserweight Championships once each. All totaled, Hardy has won 16 total championships between WWE and TNA.

Version (album)

Version is the second album by New York-based English producer Mark Ronson. It is an album of cover versions with a retro-inspired sound, which Mark Ronson describes as "Motown/Stax".Version was released on 14 June 2007 in the iTunes Store, and it entered the UK Album Chart at number two on 22 June 2007.

The album reached number 2 on the UK Albums Chart and has sold 105,584 copies as of January 2015.

About

Released in mid-2007, the album charted in the Billboard 200 and debuted at number 2 in the UK, supported by the success of single "Stop Me", which charted at number 2 in the UK, top 5 of the US Dance charts, and in the top 40 of Italy and Australia. Upon its release, the album managed to crack into the World Top 40, charting at 29.

Ronson's next single, "Oh My God" with Lily Allen, became his second top 10 single, peaking at 8 in the UK. "Valerie", Ronson's third single, also peaked at number 2 in the British charts, kept out of the top spot by the Sugababes. It has spent a dozen weeks in the top 10 and has sold well over 300,000 copies. The song ended the year as the ninth biggest seller, behind number 1's "Bleeding Love", "Umbrella", "Grace Kelly" among others. "Valerie" also charted in the Switzerland and New Zealand charts and even managed to top the Dutch Top 40 for four consecutive weeks, keeping Leona Lewis from the top spot.

Eye movement

Eye movement refers to the voluntary or involuntary movement of the eyes, helping in acquiring, fixating and tracking visual stimuli. Specific systems are used in maintaining fixation, when reading and in music reading. A special type of eye movement, rapid eye movement, occurs during REM sleep.

The eyes are the visual organs of the human body, and move using a system of six muscles. The retina, a specialised type of tissue containing photoreceptors, senses light. These specialised cells convert light into electrochemical signals. These signals travel along the optic nerve fibers to the brain, where they are interpreted as vision in the visual cortex.

Primates and many other vertebrates use three types of voluntary eye movement to track objects of interest: smooth pursuit, vergence shifts and saccades. These movements appear to be initiated by a small cortical region in the brain's frontal lobe. This is corroborated by removal of the frontal lobe. In this case, the reflexes (such as reflex shifting the eyes to a moving light) are intact, though the voluntary control is obliterated.

Ad hoc

Ad hoc is a Latin phrase meaning "for this". In English, it generally signifies a solution designed for a specific problem or task, non-generalizable, and not intended to be able to be adapted to other purposes (compare with a priori).

Common examples are ad hoc organizations, committees, and commissions created at the national or international level for a specific task. In other fields, the term could refer, for example, to a military unit created under special circumstances, a tailor-made suit, a handcrafted network protocol, or a purpose-specific equation.

Ad hoc can also mean makeshift solutions, shifting contexts to create new meanings, inadequate planning, or improvised events.

Styling

According to The Chicago Manual of Style, familiar Latin phrases that are listed in Merriam-Webster, such as "ad hoc", should not be italicized.

Ad hoc hypothesis

In science and philosophy, ad hoc means the addition of extraneous hypotheses to a theory to save it from being falsified. Ad hoc hypotheses compensate for anomalies not anticipated by the theory in its unmodified form.

ADHOC

The Cambodian Human Rights and Development Association (ADHOC) is Cambodia's oldest human rights organization. It was founded by a group of former political prisoners in December 1991, shortly after the signing of the Paris Peace Agreements, which put an end to several decades of civil war in Cambodia.

ADHOC operates as an NGO. It sets out to investigate human rights violations in Cambodia, provide free legal assistance, empower citizens and grassroots communities, and engage in advocacy work through its Central Office (located in Phnom Penh) and 22 provincial offices, reaching out to all districts in the country.

ADHOC is an independent, non-partisan, non-profit and non-governmental organization.

History

ADHOC's first office was in a Buddhist temple in Phnom Penh. It began operating immediately and, with donations, grew rapidly. By 1992, ADHOC had expanded its support for victims of human rights violations, was actively reminding the government of its democratic and legal duties, and was officially registered. In its early years, ADHOC's leaders, some of whom had been imprisoned for peacefully exercising their right to free speech, faced much intimidation by local authorities.
