Adam Khan

Adam Langley-Khan (born 24 May 1985), is a British sportsman and racing driver from Bridlington, Yorkshire.

TV appearances

Although Khan rarely makes TV appearances, in July 2011 he appeared on UK based Pakistani TV channel Venus TV's Venus Special. This episode of Venus Special was an hour-long in-depth interview with Khan, in which he discussed his work and future plans. Adam Khan is a regular guest on BBC Asian Network Radio.

Babar (Pashtun tribe)

The Babar (Pashto: بابړ) or Babori tribe is a Pashtun tribe from the Sarbani branch.

The Babar diaspora is spread across Pakistan, Afghanistan and India today. However, the most prominent communities remain the same, the most notable of which is in Pirpiai. Chaudhwan still has a large number of Babars living there. Other communities include, Zhob, Quetta, Multan, Kandahar, Shikarpur and Sindh [Dadu].

In the First World War 78 people of the Babar tribe from Pirpiai went to the war as Indian Army men and four were killed. Hence, Pirpiai is one of the very few villages which has an official plaque commemorating its First World War contribution.

Babars have risen to many prominent positions in the government and army of Pakistan, along with many other career fields such as Engineering, Medicine, Acting, etc. Some notable Babars from Pirpiai include, Khurshid Zaman Babar a well known lawyer, Abdullah Zaman Babar, Colonel Mir Haider Khan, Major General Adam Khan, Shah Zaman Babar a prominent lawyer and Justice of Peshawar High Court till 1975, Farouk Adam Khan (a prominent lawyer and later on the Prosecutor General of the National Accountability Bureau) and Major General Naseerullah Khan Babar. Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan also hails from the same tribe.

The personal name Adam derives from the Hebrew noun ha adamah meaning "the ground" or "earth". Adam was a major character in the 1994 novel, Mordenheim, written by Chet Williamson.

Fictional character biography

Adam is the darklord of Lamordia. Known as Mordenheim's Monster or the Creature, he is an extremely intelligent and nimble dread flesh golem, based on Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. Adam is the most successful creation of Dr. Victor Mordenheim in his research into the creation of life, albeit the one that causes him grief unmeasured. Adam reduced the doctor's wife Elise to a vegetative state and apparently murdered their adopted daughter Eva.

The two are inextricably bound together: Dr. Mordenheim has Adam's immortality, and in return Adam shares the doctor's anguish.

Usually hidden from sight, Adam is believed to spend most of his time on the Isle of Agony, part of the archipelago known as the Finger.
