Stratus (Serbian band)

Stratus (Serbian Cyrillic: Стратус) is a Serbian heavy metal band.

Band history

The band was formed in 2002 by guitarists Darko Konstantinoviċ and Saša Jankoviċ. A former Osvajači vocalist Nenad Jovanović joined the band in 2003. With Goran Pešić (bass guitar), Goran Nikolić (drums) and Aleksandar Ljubisavljević (keyboard), they released their self-titled debut album Stratus in March 2005.

In 2008, Nenad Vukeliċ (bass guitar), Sale Stojković (drums) and Slaviša Malenoviċ (keyboards) became the band's new members. In 2008, the band released their second studio album Equilibrium.

Acid (computer virus)

Acid is a computer virus which infects .COM and .EXE files including command.com. Each time an infected file is executed, Acid infects all of the .EXE files in the current directory. Later, if an infected file is executed, it infects the .COM files in the current directory. Programs infected with Acid will have had the first 792 bytes of the host program overwritten with Acid's own code. There will be no file length increase unless the original host program was smaller than 792 bytes, in which case it will become 792 bytes in length. The program's date and time in the DOS disk directory listing will not be altered.

Acid (hip-hop)

Acid (often written ACID; Burmese: အက်စစ်, Burmese pronunciation: [ʔɛʔ sɪʔ]) is a Burmese hip hop group often credited with releasing Burma's first hip hop album, Beginning, in 2000. Two of the group's founders were later imprisoned for the group's allegedly pro-democracy lyrics.

Beginning

Acid was founded by Zayar Thaw, Annaga, Hein Zaw and Yan Yan Chan. In 2000, Acid released Burma's first hip-hop album, Beginning. Despite predictions of failure by many in the Burmese music industry, Beginning remained in the number one position of the Burmese charts for more than two months. A Democratic Voice of Burma reporter described the group's music as blending a "combative, angry style with indigenous poeticism".

The band's repertoire has been said to contain many "thinly veiled attacks" on Burma's military government, the State Peace and Development Council.The Independent stated that while the band "focused on the mundane, their lyrics inevitably touched on the hardships of life in Burma, drawing them into dangerous territory."

302 Acid

302 Acid is a music group from Washington, D.C., USA, formed by Doug Kallmeyer and Justin Mader in 2002. It currently includes Doug Kallmeyer (strings, samples, projections), Justin Mader (samples, projections).

Video projections are a component of their live performances, and their music has improvisatory elements. Notable in the sound is Kallmeyer's use of an electric double bass.

The group released an EP entitled Ailanthus Altissima on the Hackshop Records label in 2004, and subsequently a full-length album 302 acid0005 on the Nottingham-based Em:t Records label in 2005. The title of the latter release is in accord with em:t's naming conventions, but the work contained in the release is actually titled Even Calls. A limited CD-R of their performance at the Big Chill music festival was also released by Em:t. The group is currently working on a new album. The group has toured in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., and has performed several live radio broadcasts.

The group took their name from an NFPA 704 hazard placard for hydrochloric acid that can be frequently seen when traveling the Washington Metro system.

Revival (Live at the Gillioz)

Revival (John Fogerty album)

Revival is the seventh solo studio album by American roots rock singer-songwriter/guitarist John Fogerty. released in 2007, it was his first new album in three years. It is also the third album (the first two were compilation and live albums) since rejoining Fantasy Records. The album was released on October 2, 2007.

The cover design echoes the silhouette design of Fogerty's first solo album The Blue Ridge Rangers. The first single from the album was "Don't You Wish It Was True". The album contains two war protest songs: "Long Dark Night" and "I Can't Take It No More", both of which speak out against the Bush administration and the Iraq War. The latter song contains a lyric that refers to one of his hits with CCR, by referring to Bush as a "Fortunate Son." Also, this song sounds like Ramones-style punk rock. Fogerty has done some experimentation with that sound ("She's Got Baggage" from Deja Vu (All Over Again)). Another song, "Summer of Love", is a tribute to Cream and Jimi Hendrix, and has a musical citation from "Sunshine of Your Love". "Creedence Song" refers to CCR's swamp rock.

Revival (sports team)

In sports, the term revival is an informal term used to indicate that a new club or franchise is using a name and/or colours of a previously active team. The previously active team may be defunct, temporarily suspended or may have transferred its operations to another city. The new team may be a new team or franchise, or it may be a transferred team taking over a previous team's colours and/or name. Sports teams names or nicknames are copyrighted in North America and elsewhere. Therefore, permission often must be granted from the owner or family of the defunct team.

Description

Sports teams are organized in various ways and the term is used differently in different situations. A team can be simply not fielded for a season, but the parent organization still exists. A team and franchise can relocate to another city, and adopt a new nickname. At some point, sometimes decades later, a new team, with a new organization, then revives the team, name or colours in the original city. It may or may not be granted possession of the original team's history (team records, championships and the like)
