Abid Ali (Indian National Army)

Captain Abid Ali was an officer in the Indian National Army and an ADC to Subhas Chandra Bose. He had accompanied Bose on his U-boat trip from Germany to Japan, closer to the INA's theater of war. He is known for his Hindi-Urdu version of Jana Gana Mana (later to become India's national anthem), which was called Sab sukh chain and became the anthem of the Indian National Army and the Provisional Government of Free India (or Arzi Hukumat-e-Azad Hind).

Abid Ali (actor)

Abid Ali (born 1952) is a Pakistani television actor who has acted in numerous television productions in Pakistan and India Bollywood. He launched himself as a director with Saheli in 2007, which he also starred in. Currently he is starring in and directing Massi aur Malka a family based-drama on Geo TV since 2009.

Biography

While at school, Ali was inclined towards writing and painting and never considered acting, but knew that he wanted to do something creative. Between 1968 and 1969, while at college in Quetta, he was spotted by Ata Shad from Radio Pakistan who told him that he had a good voice. He went for an audition, which he passed and started to work on radio while continuing to study at college. In 1973, he moved to Lahore and decided to chance his luck at PTV, and after taking part in many auditions, he began to receive work on television next to Pakistan in India.

Personal life

He was married to Humaira Aali but the couple are now separated. The couple had three daughters together: Iman Ali, Rahma Ali and Maryam Ali. He married Rabia Noureen in 2006.

Cho Yong-Jin (Korean: 조용진), famously known as Ali (stylized as ALi), is a South Korean singer-songwriter famous for her work on Korean pop music in the early twenty-first century. Her stage name is a motif from Muhammad Ali. This is so that it can be engraved easily by the masses. Following her debut in 2009, she is primarily known for her strong vocals and her time as a contestant on the KBS program Immortal Songs 2.

Career

Following her debut in 2009, she had already gained fame for her appearances on music shows, most notably Immortal Songs 2 on KBS2. She also worked as a professor in applied musical arts at the Seoul Technical Arts College.

ALi released her first album SOULri in December 2011 which was strangely two years after her official debut. One released track, "Na Young", garnered immediate controversy as its lyrics referenced a case of sexual assault that had been a very public case in South Korea, with many detractors criticizing the song to be insensitive to its subject. ALi would later address this controversy by revealing that she herself was a survivor of sexual assault.
