Abel Estanislao (born May 19, 1995, in Marikina City, Philippines) is a Filipino actor and model. He is notable in Teen Gen as Jose Vicente "JV" Cortez and one of three member in 3Logy Band.
Abel Estanislao started his acting career when he landed the role of Jose Vicente "JV" Cortez in the youth oriented series of GMA Network called Teen Gen where he was paired with Sunyee Maluche, also a new comer. Since then, he has appeared in a number of television dramas with his home network, GMA7.
It has been said that Estanislao's looks have a resemblance to veteran Filipino actor Ping Medina. Estanislao is the nephew of the late actor Jay Ilagan, husband of actress Amy Austria; and he is also the distant relative of actors Janno Gibbs and Dexter Doria.
In 2014, Estanislao became a member of musical trio 3logy, along with his Teen Gen co-star and best friend and "older brother" Jeric Gonzales and Jak Roberto. Their first song is the revival of Jolina Magdangal's hit Maybe It's You.
Estanislao (c. 1798 – 1838) was an indigenous alcalde of Mission San José and a member and leader of the Lakisamni tribe of the Yokut people of northern California . He was notorious for leading bands of armed Native Americans in revolt against the Mexican government and Mission establishments.
Estanislao was born with the Yokut name of Cucunuchi circa 1793 on the riverbanks of the Río de Laquisimes (present-day Stanislaus River, Modesto, California). According to records at Mission San José, in 1821 mission padres had visited the Laquisimes area, and had insisted Cucunuchi to return to the mission along with his wife, daughter, and mother to receive a formal Christian education. His younger brother Canocee had already visited the mission in 1820, and had been baptized with the name of "Orencio". Cucunuchi and his family journeyed to the mission on September 24, 1821, but his father did not go. He was soon baptized with the name of "Estanislao" (Spanish for St. Stanislaw) after his arrival to the Mission San José.
