Abel (album)

Abel is an EP released by Unsraw on August 29, 2007. It is part of a dual-album release campaign with Kein. The pair of EPs are named after the biblical story of Cain and Abel.

Album

Albums of recorded music were developed in the early 20th century, first as books of individual 78rpm records, then from 1948 as vinyl LP records played at 33 ¹⁄₃ rpm. Vinyl LPs are still issued, though in the 21st century albums sales have mostly focused on compact disc (CD) and MP3 formats. The audio cassette was a format used in the late 1970s through to the 1990s alongside vinyl.

An album may be recorded in a recording studio (fixed or mobile), in a concert venue, at home, in the field, or a mix of places. Recording may take a few hours to several years to complete, usually in several takes with different parts recorded separately, and then brought or "mixed" together. Recordings that are done in one take without overdubbing are termed "live", even when done in a studio. Studios are built to absorb sound, eliminating reverberation, so as to assist in mixing different takes; other locations, such as concert venues and some "live rooms", allow for reverberation, which creates a "live" sound. The majority of studio recordings contain an abundance of editing, sound effects, voice adjustments, etc. With modern recording technology, musicians can be recorded in separate rooms or at separate times while listening to the other parts using headphones; with each part recorded as a separate track.

Abel (given name)

Abel is a biblical first name which may derive from the Hebrew Hebel, itself derived from hevel (breath or vapour), or from the Assyrian for son. In reference to the biblical story, Abel is usually linked with his brother, as Cain and Abel.

Based on its occurrence in the Bible the name Abel has been used in many European languages; in English it was mostly used by the Puritans in the 17th century.

The variants used in the Russian language are "А́бель" (Abel) and "А́вель" (Avel).

Abel (crater)

Abel is an ancient lunar crater that lies near the southeast limb of the Moon's near side. It is located to the south of the crater Barnard, at the northwest edge of the Mare Australe.

The rim of Abel is heavily eroded and distorted in shape, forming a somewhat polygonal figure. It is incised and overlaid by past impacts. The satellite crater Abel A overlies the southern rim, while Abel M and Abel L intrude into the western wall.

The eastern floor of Abel has been resurfaced by past lava flows, leaving a relatively smooth, flat surface with a low albedo. The remains of a small crater rim protrude near the northeast wall. The western floor is rougher in texture and matches the albedo of the surrounding surface.

The crater was named for the Norwegian mathematician Niels Henrik Abel.

By convention these features are identified on lunar maps by placing the letter on the side of the crater midpoint that is closest to Abel.

EX series

The characters below are not canonical to the Street Fighter storyline. Arika, not Capcom, owns the characters and the copyright to them, and Capcom has acknowledged a difficulty in having them appear in future games. Producer Yoshinori Ono originally said that the possibility of them appearing in future titles had not been ruled out, stating that Capcom still has a good relationship with Arika, however he has since amended his stance stating that the chances of the characters coming back are very small.
