In Time

In Time is a 2011 American dystopian science fiction action thriller film written, directed, and produced by Andrew Niccol and starring Justin Timberlake, Amanda Seyfried and Cillian Murphy that takes place in a society where people stop aging at 25 and each has a clock on their arm that counts down how long they have to live. The film was released on October 28, 2011.

Plot

In 2169, people are genetically engineered with perfect health and appearance. Each has a digital clock on their forearm; when they turn 25, they stop aging and their clock begins counting down from 1 year. When the clock reaches zero, that person "times out" and dies. Time has become the universal currency; it is used to pay for daily expenses and can be transferred between people or "time capsules" - the equivalent of wallets. The country has been divided into "time zones" based on the wealth of the population. The film focuses on two specific zones: Dayton - a poor manufacturing area where people generally have 24 hours or less on their clock at any given time - and New Greenwich - the wealthiest time zone, where people have enough time on their clock to live for centuries.

In Time (album)

In Time is the seventh studio album released by the Americana-neotraditional country-Tex-Mex band The Mavericks on January 21, 2013, or February 26, 2013, on the Valory Music Group label, which is owned by Big Machine Records. The album was produced by Niko Bolas and Raul Malo. The album has achieved praise from the critics and according to Metacritic has garnered "universal acclaim".

The vinyl LP version of the record was pressed by United Record Pressing in Nashville, Tennessee.

The band released a video for the song "Back In Your Arms Again".

Commercial

In Time reached No. 8 on the Billboard Country Albums chart and No. 39 on the Billboard 200, selling 14,000 copies in its debut week. The album has sold 75,000 copies in the US as of February 2015.

Critical

In Time received mostly positive reviews from the music critics. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album received an average score of 86, based on 10 reviews, which indicates "universal acclaim". The album has garnered all positive reviews, and those are from AllMusic, American Songwriter, Daily Breeze, The Huffington Post, Los Angeles Times, Lincoln Journal Star, The Oakland Press, Paste, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Plain Dealer, PopMatters, The Salt Lake Tribune, Tampa Bay Times and the USA Today.

In Time (Mat Maneri album)

In Time is an album by jazz violinist Mat Maneri and pianist Pandelis Karayorgis, which was recorded in 1993 and released on Leo Lab, a sublabel of Leo Records. The album includes six original pieces and two interpretations of Thelonious Monk composition "Ugly Beauty".

Reception

In his review for AllMusic, Thom Jurek states "As a work of restrained beauty and subtle textures and colors, it is nearly a masterpiece... This was an auspicious meeting of two young minds who had already in 1994 established their own voices on a burgeoning jazz improv scene."

The Penguin Guide to Jazz says that the album "is delicately beautiful and thoughtful, almost as a classical duo in timbre and dynamics, but dealing with a language that is far from classical."

Peek (crater)

Peek is a small lunar impact crater that is located in the northern part of the Mare Smythii near the eastern limb of the Moon. This part of the lunar surface is subject to the effects of libration, and the crater can be hidden from sight during an unfavorable libration. Even when visible, however, the crater is seen almost edge-on, making it difficult to see much detail from the Earth. Due to foreshortening the crater appears close to Schubert, even though the two are about 60 km apart. It lies to the south-southeast of the large crater Neper.

This crater is generally circular and bowl-shaped, with a small interior floor at the center of the sloping inner walls. The crater has a higher albedo than the surrounding dark lunar mare, making it appear slightly brighter than the nearby terrain. The crater has not been significantly eroded by subsequent impacts.

Osmosis (solitaire)

Osmosis (also known as Treasure Trove) is a solitaire game played with a deck of 52 playing cards where the object, like many solitaire games, is to put the cards into foundations, although not in numerical order.

Game play consists of four, vertically arranged reserve piles of four cards each (one face-up card on top of three face-down cards). A seventeenth card is put in the first (top) of four foundations, which are also arranged vertically to the right of the reserve piles. Cards with the same suit as this card must be moved to this foundation. The other three foundations are also built by suit, but must begin with cards of the same rank as the first card of the top foundation (the 17th card previously mentioned). Foundation piles are fanned from left to right. All undealt cards make up the stock.

To begin, the top cards in each reserve pile are the only cards in play and must be moved to the foundations if possible. A card can be moved to a foundation if a card of the same value has already been placed in the foundation above it. Once all possible cards have been placed in the foundations, the next face-down cards remaining in the reserve piles are turned face-up. When placing cards from the reserve piles is no longer possible, one can use the stock, deal three cards at a time, and use its top card to make possible moves. One can redeal the stock as long as there are possible moves from the stock or from the reserve piles to the foundations.

Soup

Soup is a primarily liquid food, generally served warm (but may be cool or cold), that is made by combining ingredients such as meat and vegetables with stock, juice, water, or another liquid. Hot soups are additionally characterized by boiling solid ingredients in liquids in a pot until the flavors are extracted, forming a broth.
