A Moment in Time is a 1964 novel written by English author H. E. Bates. He based the setting for most of the story on Shopswyke House, a Georgion mansion in Tangmere, West Sussex to which Bates himself was assigned.

    Plot Introduction

In the summer of 1940, 19-year-old Elizabeth Cartwright lives a secluded and privileged life in a village in Kent. Her world is turned upside down with the arrival of a group of RAF officers who requisition her family home as a base. She immediately falls for Bill Ogilvie with an old sports-car, then marries 'Splodge' but the life of an RAF pilot is a dangerous one as it comes as no real surprise when tragedy strikes.

    Reception

    Reviews were mixed:

  • Aileen Pippett in The New York Times writes 'Mr. Bates, writing here at the top of his form, has caught the spirit of those desperate days and rendered it in scenes that are both tender and magnificent'
  • The Times Literary Supplement as true of most other reviews, criticized Bates for turning 'the Battle of Britain into a gay summer frolic in a pastoral setting.'
  • A Moment

A Moment is the second album of R&B singer Lalah Hathaway. The album's first single was "Let Me Love You," produced by Brian Alexander Morgan of SWV fame. A video was also shot for the single. The follow-up single was "Separate Ways," released as a double-A side single with "Family Affair." The Martyn Ware-produced "Family Affair" was actually released in 1991 and billed as "BEF featuring Lalah Hathaway".

The CD format of the album is now out-of-print, but is available as a digital download.

  • In Time

In Time is a 2011 American dystopian science fiction action thriller film written, directed, and produced by Andrew Niccol and starring Justin Timberlake, Amanda Seyfried and Cillian Murphy that takes place in a society where people stop aging at 25 and each has a clock on their arm that counts down how long they have to live. The film was released on October 28, 2011.

    Plot

In 2169, people are genetically engineered with perfect health and appearance. Each has a digital clock on their forearm; when they turn 25, they stop aging and their clock begins counting down from 1 year. When the clock reaches zero, that person "times out" and dies. Time has become the universal currency; it is used to pay for daily expenses and can be transferred between people or "time capsules" - the equivalent of wallets. The country has been divided into "time zones" based on the wealth of the population. The film focuses on two specific zones: Dayton - a poor manufacturing area where people generally have 24 hours or less on their clock at any given time - and New Greenwich - the wealthiest time zone, where people have enough time on their clock to live for centuries.

    A Moment In Time

    by: Beres Hammond

    Whoa, what a night
What a night, what a night
    Oh gosh, what a night
    [Hook]
    I feel good
When you're wrapped up in my arms
    Dancing to a reggae song
    Feel good, feel good
I feel good cause your perfume isn't loud
That only I can talk about
    Feel good, feel good
    [Verse 1]
You feel like velvet rubbing over my skin
And then your hair dances under my chin
Wish we were locked out baby, just the two of us
Yes, every move you make gives me a rush
    [Verse 2]
Whine some more and show me that love unconditionally
Make believe that we are alone, just you and me
Take the problems, leave them behind, don't let it show
Go baby, go baby, go baby, go baby, go
    [Hook]
    I feel good
When you're wrapped up in my arms
    Dancing to a reggae song
    Feel good, feel good
I feel good cause your perfume isn't loud
That only I can talk about
    Feel good, feel good
    [Bridge]
Whoa, what a vibe, what a vibe, what a vibe
What a night, what a night, what a night
    Yes, what a night
    [Verse 3]
I'd love to wipe the sweat off your face
But it looks so good I might have to rephrase
This moment is magic so I leave it alone
Until you say I need time to go home
    [Verse 4]
Whine some more and show me that love unconditionally
Make believe that we are alone, just you and me
Take the problems, leave them behind, don't let it show
Go baby, go baby, go baby, go baby, go
    [Hook]
    I feel good
When you're wrapped up in my arms
    Dancing to a reggae song
    Feel good, feel good
I feel good cause your perfume isn't loud
That only I can talk about
    Feel good, feel good
Oh, what a night, what a night, yes
What a sweet, sweet night full of vibes
Oh, what a night, what a night, yes
    What a night, yeah
