ATV Home (Chinese: 亞洲電視本港台), also call aTV1, is one of the free-to-air Hong Kong Cantonese television channels in Hong Kong, the other being its arch-rival TVB Jade. Its sister station ATV World broadcasts in Hong Kong English. It is owned and operated by Asia Television (Chinese: 亞洲電視有限公司), and is broadcast from the ATV Enterprises Office at 25–37 Dai Shing Street in Tai Po Industrial Estate in Tai Po, which is in the Tai Po District in Northeast New Territories. In 2011, researchers from the University of Hong Kong have determined the ATV home viewing rate as 40.27%.

From Rediffusion to ATV

ATV Home's Cantonese channel, Rediffusion Television, began as a free-to-air TV service on 29 May 1957 known on-air as Rediffusion Television, and on 30 September 1963, the channel was split into two, with one named Rediffusion Television Cantonese Channel, and the other as Rediffusion Television English Channel. On 1 February 1967, the channels were renamed RTV-1 and RTV-2 respectively. On 10 November 1969 Rediffusion Television was granted a free-to-air television broadcasting license for its two television channels. On 24 September 1982, Rediffusion Television was bought out by the new ATV, and consequently the Cantonese and English language channel was renamed ATV Cantonese and ATV English. The channel was again renamed on 2 February 1987 as ATV Gold and ATV Diamond. The channel was again renamed on 13 February 1989 as ATV Home and ATV World.

15 ATV

15 ATV is the Aruba NBC affiliate, broadcasting on Channel 15 on SETAR's Cable TV system and Channel 8 on terrestrial television in the NTSC television standard. The station has the call-sign of PJA-TV (following the standard in the Netherlands and Netherlands Antilles, with PJ callsigns), though it goes by its branding of "ATV". The station is an NBC licensee, the only one not located in the United States (following the 2014 closure of VSB-TV in Bermuda), airing many American television programs for the tourists in the area, with programming from WNBC New York City during primetime and overnight hours. 15 ATV also broadcasts several local productions, including Noticia Awenochi, Time Out, Mesa Rondo, 15 On 15, Pulso Latino, Trend Alert, Stylish Living and live coverage of events and breaking news.

15 ATV's studios are located at Royal Plaza Mall in downtown Oranjestad.

Ràdio i Televisió d'Andorra, S.A. (RTVA) (Catalan pronunciation: [ˈraðiu təɫəβiziˈo ðənˈdorə], locally: [ˈraðio teleβiziˈo ðanˈdɔra], meaning in English "Radio and Television of Andorra, PLC"), is the public service television and radio broadcaster in the Principality of Andorra. It operates a television channel, ATV, and a radio station, RNA; both of which broadcast in Catalan.

History

Public service broadcasting in the principality began on 26 October 1989 after the General Council of Andorra decided a national broadcasting organisation should be set up. As a result, the Organisme de Ràdio i Televisió d’Andorra (ORTA) was formed and radio station Ràdio Nacional d'Andorra (RNA) began broadcasting in December 1990. Andorra Televisió (ATV), Andorra's first television channel began in 1995. ORTA was funded by the Andorran government. All programming on both RNA and ATV was produced by independent companies until 1997 when ORTA began producing all of its own programming. ORTA was replaced by the current organisation, Ràdio i Televisió d'Andorra S.A. (RTVA), on 13 April 2000. RTVA took full control of both RNA and ATV. RTVA is also funded by the government. Advertising provides additional revenue. Its current director-general is Francesc Robert. RTVA has been an active member of the European Broadcasting Union since 2002 and has taken part in the Eurovision Song Contest each year since 2004.; however, in 2012 it was believed to be due to withdraw from the EBU because of financial problems.

Home (Hothouse Flowers album)

Home is the second album by the Irish rock band Hothouse Flowers. Released in 1990 via London Records, it reached number 2 on the UK Albums Chart and spent 1 week at number 1 on the Australian charts. The band did an extended tour in Australia, and had built up a significant following there, which may have contributed to their success in the charts. Two singles from the album charted in the United Kingdom: "Give It Up" (#30) and "I Can See Clearly Now" (#23). "Give It Up" also charted in the United States (#2 Modern Rock Tracks/#29 Mainstream Rock Tracks).
