AKB48 (APINACA, N-(1-adamantyl)-1-pentyl-1H-indole-3-carboxamide) is a drug that presumably acts as a potent agonist for the cannabinoid receptors. It had never previously been reported in the scientific or patent literature, and was first identified by laboratories in Japan in March 2012 as an ingredient in synthetic cannabis smoking blends.[1] Structurally it closely resembles cannabinoid compounds from patent WO 2003/035005 but with a simple pentyl chain on the indazole 1-position, and AKB48 falls within the claims of this patent despite not being disclosed as an example. AKB48 was made illegal in Japan in 2012,[2] and was banned as a temporary class drug in New Zealand from 13th July 2012.[3]
The drug is presumably named after the Japanese girl group AKB48.[citation needed]

What the fuck is up with this?
You want to live for nothing with a fucked disease
It doesn't make a difference can you believe
Only one condition that I'm not alone
I will do it what it takes
You want to be alive
It don't take much to be
I know that I will survive
Try taking something from me
You ain't nothing
Keep coming back
You ain't nothing
What's the use in bringing me
Bringing me this far to leave me in the dark
You drag me like I've never seen the dark in my life
I close my eyes I hold my breath I'm at the end
Have you got what it takes?
Life is set to death
From the very moment you breathe
Living lies on a needle
Taking life out on me
You ain't nothing
Keep coming back
You ain't nothing
