The 82 Hudson is a bus route operated by New Jersey Transit in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Buses run from Exchange Place in Jersey City along Montgomery Street, Marin Boulevard, Newark Avenue, and Summit Avenue to Paterson Plank Road at Transfer Station in Union City.
The 82 operates along a former Public Service Railway streetcar route that extended from Exchange Place to Union City and beyond on Paterson Plank Road to Passaic and various streets to Paterson. The final patterns operated were the 15 Passaic, 29 Hudson, and 35 Secaucus. The 29 and 35 both began at Exchange Place, while the 15 ran from Hoboken Terminal along Paterson Plank Road and Congress Street, joining the others along Summit Avenue at Transfer Station, where interchange was available to the 17 Hudson. Along Paterson Plank Road beyond Union City, the 29 was the first to end, in downtown Secaucus. The 35 also ended in Secaucus; only the 15 continued across the Hackensack River to Paterson. The 15 was replaced by all service vehicles (trolley buses) in 1936 and buses in 1947, and has evolved into the 85 route to Secaucus. The other two trolley lines, the 29 and 35, were replaced with buses by Public Service Coordinated Transport in 1931. NJ Transit assigned the number 82 in 1982, and eventually the route was truncated to its current length.
Hudson may refer to:
Hudson is a town in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States.
Before its incorporation as a town in 1866, Hudson was a neighborhood and unincorporated village within the town of Marlborough, Massachusetts, and was known as Feltonville, and before that, known as Eastborough. From around 1850 until the last shoe factory burned down in 1968, Hudson was known as a "shoe town." At one point, the town had 17 shoe factories, many of them powered by the Assabet River, which runs through town. Because of the many factories in Hudson, immigrants were attracted to the town. Today, most people are of either Portuguese or Irish descent, with a smaller percentage of people being of French, Italian, English, or Scots-Irish descent. Hudson is served by the Hudson Public Schools district.
For geographic and demographic information on the census-designated place Hudson, please see the article Hudson (CDP), Massachusetts.
In 1650, the area that would become Hudson was part of the Indian Plantation for the Praying Indians. The Praying Indians were evicted from their plantation during King Philip's War, and most did not return even after the war ended.
Hudson (first name and dates unknown) was an English professional cricketer who made 1 known appearance in first-class cricket. He played for Sussex (aka Brighton) against Middlesex at the Prince of Wales Ground, Brighton in 1792, scoring 0 in his only innings.
I can show you the world
Shining, shimmering, splendid
Tell me, princess, now when did
You last let your heart decide?
I can open your eyes
Take you wonder by wonder
Over, sideways and under
On a magic carpet ride
A whole new world
A new fantastic point of view
No one to tell us no or where to go
Or say we're only dreaming
A whole new world
A dazzling place I never knew
But when I'm way up here, it's crystal clear
That now I'm in a whole new world with you
Now I'm in a whole new world with you
Unbelievable sights
Indescribable feeling
Soaring, tumbling, freewheeling
Through an endless diamond sky
A whole new world
Don't you dare close your eyes
A hundred thousand things to see
(Hold your breath, it gets better)
I'm like a shooting star
I've come so far
I can't go back
To where I used to be
A whole new world
Every turn a surprise
With new horizons to pursue
Every moment red-letter
I'll chase them anywhere
There's time to spare
Let me share this whole new world with you
A whole new world
That's where we'll be
A thrilling chase
A wondrous place
