Copyright

Copyright is a legal right created by the law of a country that grants the creator of an original work exclusive rights for its use and distribution. This is usually only for a limited time. The exclusive rights are not absolute but limited by limitations and exceptions to copyright law, including fair use.

Copyright is a form of intellectual property, applicable to certain forms of creative work. Under US copyright law, legal protection attaches only to fixed representations in a tangible medium. It is often shared among multiple authors, each of whom holds a set of rights to use or license the work, and who are commonly referred to as rightsholders. These rights frequently include reproduction, control over derivative works, distribution, public performance, and "moral rights" such as attribution.

Copyrights are considered territorial rights, which means that they do not extend beyond the territory of a specific jurisdiction. While many aspects of national copyright laws have been standardized through international copyright agreements, copyright laws vary by country.

Copyright (band)

Copyright was a Canadian alternative rock band, active in the 1990s. The band was launched by vocalist Thomas Anselmi and guitarist Christian Thorvaldson, former members of the short-lived and controversial punk rock band Slow, with new bassist Eric Marxsen and drummer Pete Bourne.

Initially, the band spelled its name as the symbol ©, pronounced as "Circle C". Under that name, they released a self-titled debut album on Geffen Records in 1991. That album sold poorly, and the band was dropped from Geffen. After a few years of struggling to continue in the music industry, they were subsequently signed to BMG Music, releasing their second album Love Story in 1996 under the name Copyright. Love Story was a shortlisted Juno Award nominee for Best Alternative Album at the Juno Awards of 1998.

The album The Hidden World followed in 2001.

Teflon Brothers

Teflon Brothers is a hip hop and rap group from Helsinki, Finland. The band consists of Pyhimys, Heikki Kuula, Voli and Sahamies.

Commercial success

Teflon Brothers released their first single "Matkal kotiin" in 2006. It was also featured on a soundtrack for a film Adihasla. Their first album T followed in 2009 and peaked at number 26 on the Official Finnish Albums Chart. In April 2010, they offered a free mixtape Iso hätä, which featured songs by other artists as well.

The second Teflon Brothers album © was released in August 2010, also peaking at number 26 on the albums chart. In January 2013, the group reached number nine with their third album, Valkoisten dyynien ratsastajat. The song "Seksikkäin jäbä", featuring Stig and Meiju Suvas, also managed to enter the Official Finnish Singles Chart where it peaked at number three.

In 2014, their single "Kendo Anthem" also reached number three on the singles chart and was quickly followed by their first number-one single, "Maradona (kesä '86)". Both are included on their fourth album, Isänpäivä.
