4 Play Tour
4 Play Tour is the name of The Cure's 2007-2008 concert tour. It began with their first concert in Japan in over 22 years at the Fuji Rock Festival on 27 July 2007 and ended at New York City's Radio City Music Hall on 21 June 2008. The entirety of the 4Tour took place before 4:13 Dream was ultimately released, despite postponing the North American leg of the tour from Fall 2007 to Spring 2008 in order for the band to complete the album. However, the singles "The Only One" and "Freakshow" were released during the final leg of the tour.
An appearance in October 2007 at San Francisco's Download festival and a trio of concerts in Mexico City were the only remnants of the band's originally scheduled North American leg. Every show except a planned stop in Seattle was able to be pushed back to the end of the tour intact, with several additional cities also being added to the new itinerary. While the band were unable to successfully reschedule the Seattle show, ticket holders for the canceled event at the KeyArena were offered free entry to the band's upcoming headline appearance at Washington state's 2008 Sasquatch! Music Festival.
