4D BIM, an acronym for 4D Building Information Modeling and a term widely used in the CAD industry, refers to the intelligent linking of individual 3D CAD components or assemblies with time- or schedule-related information. The use of the term 4D is intended to refer to the fourth dimension: time, i.e. 4D is 3D plus schedule (time).
The construction of the 4D models enables the various participants (from architects, designers, contractors to clients) of a construction project, to visualize the entire duration of a series of events and display the progress of construction activities through the lifetime of the project. This BIM-centric approach towards project management technique has a very high potential to improve the project management and delivery of construction project, of any size or complexity.
In 1998, Sir John Egan, in his report Rethinking Construction, argued that certain principles and management techniques could successfully cross-over from other industries like manufacturing to serve the project delivery demands of the construction industry. The Egan Report cited "Technology as a Tool":
Bim is a 1974 Trinidad and Tobago film written by Raoul Pantin and directed by Hugh A. Robertson. It was described by Bruce Paddington as "one of the most important films to be produced in Trinidad and Tobago and ... one of the classics of Caribbean cinema".
In 1975 at the United States Virgin Islands Film Festival in St Thomas, Bim won a gold medal special jury award as "a film of unusual merit".
Bim/Bheem Singh, an Indian boy living in Trinidad, is sent to live with his aunt after his father, a trade union leader for sugar-cane workers, is shot to death during a wedding. At his new school, Bim is isolated and picked on by the black students because of his "coolie" (Indian) heritage. As tension builds during his very first day he is forced to stab one of the students as a means of defence to make it home alive. This incident gets Bim kicked out of school and his aunt's home and he is forced to live a life of violence and crime to survive. As Bim matures and becomes older, he moves from crime to crime, until involved by implication in a murder he flees back to his home place, the sugar cane belt. Approaching one of his father's old friends, he is able to take revenge on his father's killers and rise to prominence as a trade union representative for the Indian sugar-cane workers.
Bim are a British electro and acoustic duo. The band released their debut album, Scatterheart in October 2010.
Based in Bath, Somerset, Bim are composed of Tim Davis (singer, songwriter, producer) and Rebecca Rosier (singer, songwriter). Davis is primarily a pop producer/writer, but has also composed for commercials. Rosier is a writer and trained as a contemporary dancer.
The duo met and formed in 2007 after being introduced at a Million Dead gig in Bristol. Davis was involved in pop-punk band Home From Home at the time, while also working on a solo electro project. After recording a demo together, the duo continued to write and record while studying at universities in London, releasing their first EP in September 2007.
A video for the single 'Stay In My Memory', by award-winning mixed media animator Katy Davis gained popularity and won a number of awards in animation and short film festivals in 2009. The video went on to be featured on YouTube and MySpace. At time of writing (24 June 2011), the video has had 825,960 views on YouTube.
Bim may refer to:
Já não tenho dedos pra contar
De quantos barrancos despenquei
E quantas pedras me atiraram
E quantas atirei
Tanta farpa, tanta mentira
Tanta falta do que dizer
Nem sempre é so easy se viver
Hoje não consigo mais me lembrar
De quantas janelas me atirei
E quanto rastro de incompreensão
Eu já deixei
Tantos bons quanto maus motivos
Tantas vezes desilusão
Quase nunca a vida é um balão
Mas o teu amor me cura
De uma loucura qualquer
Encostar no teu peito
E se isso for algum defeito por mim
Tudo bem
