3-D (band)

3-D was a short-lived American rock band of the early 1980s, best known for the hit singles "All Night Television", "Telephone Number", and the new wave track, "X-ray Eyes".

They toured with Ramones, The Cars, Eddie Money, Poco, and U2. Keyboardist Teddy Wender and vocalist Ric Zivic have a music production business currently in Manhattan where they produce music for TV and commercials. U2 and 3-D played together at The Ritz in April 1980; they also appeared on Saturday Night Live that same month. They opened for The J. Geils Band on the Love Stinks tour circa 1980. Wender and Zivic also produced the music for The Learning Channel's children's show Bingo and Molly and the current popular show Overhaulin'.

As a keyboardist, Wender has recorded and performed with Michael Powers, Albert King, Wilson Pickett, Ben E King, Dr. John, Johnny Winter, Rick Derringer, Gordon Waller (Peter and Gordon), Paul Jones, Odetta, Bill Chinnock, Ray Draper, Gary Stewart, and Loudon Wainwright III (Wender played piano on "Dead Skunk"). Wender also composed two dance hits for the Doobie Brothers and The Memphis Horns. Wender first started recording with the country rock band, White Cloud, whose members included Kenny Kosek and Eric Weissberg.

D+ (band)

D+ is an indie rock band based in Anacortes, Washington. Formed in 1996 by singer/guitarist Bret Lunsford and singers/multi-instrumentalists Karl Blau and Phil Elverum, the band is perhaps best known for Lunsford's droll vocals and witty wordplay, and a minimalist, charmingly ramshackle sound.

D (band)

D is a Japanese visual kei rock band formed in 2003 by Asagi, Ruiza and Sin, after their previous band Syndrome disbanded.

History

Indie (2003–2007)

In March 2003, D was formed with their initial lineup of vocalist Asagi, guitarist Ruiza, drummer Hiroki, guitarist Sin, and bassist Lena. They released their first EP, New Blood on July 18. Soon after its release, Ruiza was hospitalized for an unknown illness and Sin decided to leave the band. D went on a short pause of activities from that point, however Asagi and Hiroki continued to play concerts under the name "Night of the Children" with a support guitarist, Hide-Zou. Once Ruiza was released from the hospital on September 27, D officially resumed activities with Hide-Zou replacing Sin on guitar. Two months after their reunion, they recorded their first single "Alice" which given away for free at only one show in Tokyo that November. On Jan 7 of the following year, they released their second EP Paradox.

During 2004, D released another EP Yume Narishi Kuuchuu Teien, as well as a single entitled "Mayutsuki no Hitsugi", which was only for sale at three concerts in November, in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka. They also released a remastered version of their first EP, with a previously unreleased track "Gareki no Hana". New Blood: Second Impact was released on December 8 of that year, quickly followed by their fourth single, "Mahiru no Koe: Synchronicity".

D band

NATO D band

The NATO D band is the obsolete designation given to the radio frequencies from 1 000 to 2 000 MHz (equivalent to wavelengths between 30 and 15 cm) during the cold war period. Since 1992 frequency allocations, allotment and assignments are in line to NATO Joint Civil/Military Frequency Agreement (NJFA). However, in order to identify military radio spectrum requirements, e.g. for crises management planning, training, Electronic warfare activities, or in military operations, this system is still in use.

Waveguide D band

The waveguide D band is the range of radio frequencies from 110 GHz to 170 GHz in the electromagnetic spectrum, corresponding to the recommended frequency band of operation of the WR6 and WR7 waveguides. These frequencies are equivalent to wave lengths between 2.7 mm and 1.8 mm. The D band is in the EHF range of the radio spectrum.

This D-Band lies at the approach to upper frequency limit of contemporary electronic oscillator technology, between 110 and 170 GHz.
