1935 Rose Bowl

The 1935 Rose Bowl was the 21st Rose Bowl game, an American post-season college football game that was played on New Year's Day 1935 in Pasadena, California. It featured the Alabama Crimson Tide against the Stanford Indians.

Following his performance in the Rose Bowl game, Hutson played 11 seasons with the Green Bay Packers, caught 889 passes in 118 games, an average of 7.53 per game, and scored 101 touchdowns, catching 17 one season. Dixie Howell signed with the Detroit Tigers and played minor league baseball for eight seasons and was a college football head coach at Arizona State and Idaho. The "other end" for the Crimson Tide, was Paul "Bear" Bryant. Bryant went on to be head coach at the University of Maryland, the University of Kentucky, Texas A&M University, and the University of Alabama. He won dix national championships at the University of Alabama. Upon his retirement in 1982, he held the record for most wins as head coach in college football history with 323 wins.

The 1938 Rose Bowl was played on January 1, 1938, and was the 24th Rose Bowl. The game featured the California Golden Bears against the Alabama Crimson Tide, two of the top teams from the 1937 college football season. This game was the fifth trip to Pasadena for the Tide, which won all four previous Rose Bowl games.

The game was a Vic Bottari and Sam Chapman show, who scored all the points. It was Alabama's first loss in the Rose Bowl, which prompted former Los Angeles Examiner reporter Maxwell Stiles to write: “The Crimson Tide was at its ebb, Alabama at last had lost a Rose Bowl Game.”

The 2015 Rose Bowl (officially known as the College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Rose Bowl Game presented by Northwestern Mutual) was a college football bowl game played on January 1, 2015, at the Rose Bowl stadium in Pasadena, California. This 101st Rose Bowl Game, as a semifinal for the College Football Playoff (CFP), matched the Oregon Ducks against the Florida State Seminoles as selected by the system's selection committee to compete for a spot at the National Championship game to be played on January 12, 2015 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. It was one of the 2014–15 bowl games that concluded the 2014 FBS football season.

The game was televised on ESPN and ESPN Deportes, and broadcast on ESPN Radio and XM Satellite Radio, with the kickoff time set for 5 p.m. ET (2 p.m. local time). The Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association organized the game. The Northwestern Mutual financial services organization sponsored the game.

On the match day, the 126th edition of the annual Rose Parade took place at 8 am Pacific Time with a theme of Inspiring Stories.
