The Air Canada Centre (ACC) is a multi-purpose indoor sporting arena located on Bay Street in the South Core district of Downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is the home of the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League (NHL), the Toronto Raptors of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Toronto Rock of the National Lacrosse League (NLL). In addition, the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League play occasional games at the arena, and the Raptors 905 of the NBA Development League plan to play occasional games at the venue as well. The area was previously home to the Toronto Phantoms of the Arena Football League (AFL) during their brief existence. The arena is popularly known as the ACC or the Hangar (the latter nickname came from its sponsorship by Air Canada).
The arena is owned and operated by Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd. (MLSE), the same group that owns both the Leafs and Raptors, as well as their respective development teams, and is 665,000 square feet (61,800 square metres) in size. In 2008, the ACC was the fifth busiest arena in the world and the busiest in Canada. Air Canada Centre is connected to Union Station and the underground pedestrian PATH system, providing access to public transportation (TTC's Union subway station and GO Transit). There are also 13,000 parking spaces.
Bay Street is a major thoroughfare in Downtown Toronto. It is the centre of Toronto's Financial District and is often used by metonymy to refer to Canada's financial industry since succeeding Montreal's St. James Street in that role in the 1970s.
Bay Street begins at Queens Quay (Toronto Harbour) in the south and ends at Davenport Road in the north. The original section of Bay Street ran only as far north as Queen Street West. Sections north of Queen Street were renamed Bay Street as several other streets were consolidated and several gaps filled in to create a new thoroughfare in the 1920s. The largest of these streets, Terauley Street, ran from Queen Street West to Grenville Street. At these two points, there is a curve in Bay Street.
"Bay Street banker," as in the phrase "cold as a Bay Street banker's heart," was a term of opprobrium especially among Prairie farmers who feared that financial interests were hurting them. Within the legal profession, the term Bay Street is also used colloquially to refer to the large, full-service business law firms of Toronto.
Bay Street is a hotel and shopping/entertainment complex in St. Julian's, Malta.
Bay Street was constructed on November 25, 2000 as part of a Lm30million investment for the Paceville area. It incorporates the largest shopping complex on the island, which is open seven days a week from 10am-10pm. Bay Street lies adjacent to St. Julian's and Paceville, Malta's main nightlife area, and overlooks St. George's Bay.
The complex incorporates approximately 65 retail outlets, including international brand-name shops, cafes, restaurants, bars, a casino, a hotel, an arcade, an artisan centre and a children's ball park. The complex also includes a number of one-bedroom apartments. Bay Street was constructed by the local company Bronville, and its aspect was designed by British firm BDG McCol (who also designed the Millennium Dome in London). The complex cost Lm22million, and currently employs approximately 500 staff.
In the past Bay Street had an education-themed attraction, the Discovery Centre. Its original purpose was to organise interactive science exhibitions every three months. The Centre closed at the end of July 2001 due to poor visitor numbers, and has been replaced by a household store.
Out go the lights
In goes my Knife
Pull out his life
Consider that bastard dead
Get on your knees
Please beg me please
You're the king of sleaze
Don't you try to rape me
(Chorus)
Bastard
Consider that bastard dead
Bastard
Won't get screwed again
Whoa! Whoa!
Bastard
Make it quick blow off his head
Got your neck in the noose
I got nothing to loose
We're really gonna screw you
Consider that bastard dead
Quick as a shark
Beast has its mark
You can't beat the dark
Don't you try to rape me
(Chorus)(Solo)(Chorus)
