M2TS is a filename extension used for the Blu-ray Disc Audio-Video (BDAV) MPEG-2 Transport Stream (M2TS) container file format. It is used for multiplexing audio, video and other streams. It is based on the MPEG-2 transport stream container. This container format is commonly used for high definition video on Blu-ray Disc and AVCHD.

Overview

The BDAV container format is a modification of MPEG-2 transport stream (ITU-T H.222.0 | ISO/IEC 13818-1) specification for random-access media, such as Blu-ray Disc, DVD, hard drives or solid-state memory cards. It is informally called M2TS.

In order to optimize the storage size, the format uses variable rate (VBR) Transport Streams instead of the typical constant rates (CBR) found in MPEG-2 TS broadcast. To be able to reconstruct a T-STD compliant constant rate Transport Stream for playback the arrival timestamp (ATS) of each packet needs to be recorded.

The standard MPEG-2 TS 188-byte packet is prefixed with a 4-byte extra header to a total size of 192 bytes. The header consists of a 2-bit copy permission indicator and the 30-bit arrival timestamp with a resolution of 27 MHz.

MTs255

The MTs255 (Russian: МЦ255) is a shotgun fed by a 5-round internal revolving cylinder. It is produced by the TsKIB SOO Central Design and Research Bureau of Sporting and Hunting Arms. The Russian-made guns are available in 12, 20, 28 and 32 gauges, and .410 bore.

The MTs255 is unique in that the forearm extends nearly all the way back to the cylinder. The shotgun is reloaded in a manner consistent with that of most modern revolvers, by unlocking the cylinder, and swinging it away from the frame to the left and down.

Mod The Sims

Mod The Sims (formerly ModTheSims2, often abbreviated as MTS) was founded by Delphy in May 2004 after he and Aobh previously created "Mod the Singles", a forum-based site for hosting and encouraging modification of the game Singles: Flirt Up Your Life, a dating-oriented clone of the blockbuster The Sims. It runs on vBulletin 3.0.14, with certain hacks added. MTS focuses on custom content for The Sims 2, The Sims 3 and The Sims 4, most notably game modifications. Tutorials on how to make the aforementioned modifications are also hosted on the same site, as well as lively forums devoted to game and modification help as well as general discussion.

Its sister site, Sims 2 Community, appeared around July 2005. The purpose of this was to alleviate the social threads on MTS, so MTS could focus on modifying the game. However, in May 2009 MTS and Sims 2 Community were merged into one site again. This was because staff on both sites felt that the line between the two sites was blurring and disliked having to send people to the other site constantly, to have their questions answered.

MTS 945

The MTS 945 GLONASS was the world's first smartphone that was compatible with GLONASS. The phone was available from Mobile TeleSystems, and was built by Qualcomm and ZTE. The phone was released on March 31, 2011. The phone was discontinued following low sales numbers.

History

On December 28, 2010 the CEO of AFK Sistema Vladimir Yevtushenkov and the Russian Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov presented Vladimir Putin with the MTS 945 - the first phone equipped with a dual system GLONASS\GPS.

During the meeting, Vladimir Yevtushenko claimed that the phone was equivalent to the iPhone 4, with the addition of GLONASS capabilities.

The MTS 945 was developed jointly by Sitronics, Qualcomm, and ZTE, and went on sale in March 2011 at the price of 10 990 rubles (360 USD).

The initial plans for the phone called for 500,000 units shipped in the first batch, however in early 2011 it was reduced to 100,000. This was later reduced again to just 5000 units, which took six months to sell.

In February 2012 ZTE announced that they were ending production of the phone due to poor sales. Before the MTS 945 was released ZTE was planning to create 3-5 phones with support for GLONASS, but the slow launch month put those plans into development hell, and they were eventually cancelled. Huawei, which was also planning to launch a phone with GLONASS around the same time decided to delay the launch of their own GLONASS compatible phones.

MTS Systems Corporation (MTS), incorporated in 1967, is a global supplier of test systems and industrial position sensors located in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, a southwest suburb of Minneapolis.
