Slashdot (sometimes abbreviated as /.) is a news website that originally billed itself as "News for Nerds. Stuff that Matters". It features news stories on science and technology that are submitted and evaluated by its users. Each story has a comments section attached to it.
Slashdot was founded in 1997 by Hope College student Rob Malda, also known as "Commander Taco", and classmate Jeff Bates, also known as "Hemos". It was acquired by DHI Group, Inc. (i.e., Dice Holdings International, which created the Dice.com website for tech job seekers.)
Summaries of stories and links to news articles are submitted by Slashdot's own readers, and each story becomes the topic of a threaded discussion among users. Discussion is moderated by a user-based moderation system. Randomly selected moderators are assigned points (typically 5) which they can use to rate a comment. Moderation applies either -1 or +1 to the current rating, based on whether the comment is perceived as either "normal", "offtopic", "insightful", "redundant", "interesting", or "troll" (among others). The site's comment and moderation system is administered by its own open source content management system, Slash, which is available under the GNU General Public License.
In Western musical notation, a dotted note is a note with a small dot written after it. In modern practice the first dot increases the duration of the basic note by half of its original value. A dotted note is equivalent to writing the basic note tied to a note of half the value; or with more than one dot, tied to notes of progressively halved value. The length of any given note a with n dots is therefore given by the geometric series . More than three dots are highly uncommon but theoretically possible; only quadruple dots have been attested.
A rhythm using longer notes alternating with shorter notes (whether notated with dots or not) is sometimes called a dotted rhythm. Historical examples of music performance styles using dotted rhythm include notes inégales and swing. The precise performance of dotted rhythms can be a complex issue. Even in notation that includes dots, their performed values may be longer than the dot mathematically indicates, a practice known as over-dotting.
Alpha Pup Records is an independent record label and digital distributor based in Los Angeles, California. It was founded in 2004 by Daddy Kev and Danyell Jariel.
BBC One DJ Mary Anne Hobbs has supported Alpha Pup Records from its inception and comments that "the artists involved with Low End Theory, with the Brainfeeder label, with Alpha Pup, with Leaving Records all have close ties with the UK". In 2014, Chris Ziegler of LA Weekly described the label as "a big part of the reason why" "Los Angeles is one of the most vital cities in the world for electronic music right now".
This is a list of characters from the Warner Bros. animated television series Animaniacs.
Yakko, Wakko, and Dot – the "Warner Brothers (and the Warner Sister)", voiced by Rob Paulsen, Jess Harnell, and Tress MacNeille. Yakko (the oldest) is a fast-talking smart aleck; he has many of the mannerisms of Groucho Marx. Wakko (the middle child) has a huge appetite and a gag bag filled with tricks. He often adopts a scouse accent, modeled by Harnell after a younger Ringo Starr). Dot (the youngest) is cute and sassy, and uses her apparent innocence to manipulate and torment those who stand in her way. Within this fictional reality, the siblings were created in 1929 and often appear in other characters' skits, usually being chased by Ralph the security guard; most other characters are confined to their own segments.
In a Unix shell, the full stop called the dot command (.) is a command that executes or opens a computer file. The filename is the dot command's first argument. One may specify parameters in a second argument. If no parameters are specified, the sourced file will receive the set of positional parameters available in the current context. If parameters are specified, the sourced file will receive only the specified parameters. In any case, parameter $0 will be the $0 of the current context.
The file does not have to be executable, but must be accessible from a directory defined in the PATH environment variable. The dot command is often used to define environment variables that are accessible within the current process. In contrast to file executed directly as an executable, there won't be a new process opened and the environment definitions defined within apply to the current process or the current shell.
The dot command is not to be confused with a dot file, which is a dot-prefixed hidden file or hidden directory. Nor is it to be confused with the ./scriptfile
notation for running commands, which is simply a relative path pointing to the current directory (notated in Unix as a '.' character, and typically outside of the Path variable).
The 'Dot' mango is a mango cultivar that originated in South Florida. The cultivar has limited to no commercial plantings but is sold as nursery stock for home use in Florida.
'Dot' was originally developed by nurseryman Laurence Zill of Boynton Beach, Florida, and was named after his wife Dorothy. It was reportedly a seedling of the 'Carrie' mango, however a 2005 pedigree analysis by the USDA estimated it was a seedling of the 'Zill' mango. 'Dot' was propagated for several years by the Zill nursery but fell out of favor due to disease susceptibility and lack of ideal color. However, Frank Smathers of Miami, Florida received several cuttings of the Dot and took up propagating the tree, finding the eating quality of the fruit to be very high. The fruit began to be promoted as a popular dooryard cultivar beginning in 1992 at the Fairchild Tropical Garden International Mango Festival, where it has become a featured cultivar several years.
Today 'Dot' is still sold as a dooryard tree in Florida. 'Dot' trees are also planted in the collections of the USDA's germplasm repository in Miami, Florida, the University of Florida's Tropical Research and Education Center in Homestead, Florida, and the Miami-Dade Fruit and Spice Park, also in Homestead.

Thinking about all these things

Why is this pressure all on me?
Why this negativity?
If something's wrong blame it on me
