-logy

-logy is a suffix in the English language, used with words originally adapted from Ancient Greek ending in -λογία (-logia). The earliest English examples were anglicizations of the French -logie, which was in turn inherited from the Latin -logia. The suffix became productive in English from the 18th century, allowing the formation of new terms with no Latin or Greek precedent.

The English suffix has two separate main senses, reflecting two sources of the -λογία suffix in Greek:

GMA Artist Center is launching a new boyband: 3logy, composed of Jeric Gonzales, Jak Roberto and Abel Estanislao. Jeric Gonzales and Abel Estanislao were co-stars in Teen Gen and they are best friends and brothers. They just recorded their first single, Maybe It’s You, a remake of Jolina Magdangal's song. It will be used in the rewind of Ako si Kim Samsoon and GMA Records will later release it on iTunes for digital downloading. A music video is also in the works. The three boys were chosen by GMA Artist execs and handlers from their roster of young male stars.

“Pinagbotohan daw po lahat ng young actors at kaming tatlo ang nakuha,” says Jeric, the eldest at 22. “We all sing but we underwent training with our coach, Zebedee Zuniga, who taught us how to enhance our harmony and blending.”

Jeric is the male winner in Protégé and has done both TV soaps (Pyra and Strawberry Lane) and movies (Hustisya and Dementia). He’s already a nursing graduate when he joined Protege. How does he find working with Jak and Abel?
