&pizza

&pizza is a fast-casual pizza brand headquartered in Washington, D.C. According to their mission statement, the brand is known for their gourmet handmade pies, trademark ampersand, inventive flavor combinations, localized store design and dedication to the communities they serve. Founded in July 2012 by Michael Lastoria and Steve Salis, &pizza opened its first store in the H Street Corridor of Washington, D.C. In February 2015, the company announced it had received a $10-million investment for growth and expansion. &pizza has 300+ employees referred to as tribe members.

The brand’s pizzas are made with traditional or ancient grain dough, with toppings that vary from tomato sauce and veggies to the more unusual fig marsala, 39-Day Aged Pepperoni, and a strawberry-balsamic finishing vinegar.

&pizza introduced gluten-free dough in their shops in 2015. &pizza also serves housemade craft sodas. &WINE, proprietary red and white wines, were introduced in 2015. Most recently, &pizza has introduced &TEA, small batch, handcrafted teas with organic sugar and &SNACKS, grab-and-go snack items including Salted Chocolate Chip and Chocolate Chili cookies.

Pizza

Pizza is a flatbread generally topped with tomato sauce and cheese and baked in an oven. It is commonly topped with a selection of meats, vegetables and condiments. The term was first recorded in the 10th century, in a Latin manuscript from Gaeta in Central Italy. The modern pizza was invented in Naples, Italy, and the dish and its variants have since become popular in many areas of the world.

In 2009, upon Italy's request, Neapolitan pizza was safeguarded in the European Union as a Traditional Speciality Guaranteed dish. The Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (the True Neapolitan Pizza Association) is a non-profit organization founded in 1984 with headquarters in Naples. It promotes and protects the "true Neapolitan pizza".

Pizza is sold fresh, frozen or in portions, and is a common fast food item in the United States. Various types of ovens are used to cook them and many varieties exist. Several similar dishes are prepared from ingredients commonly used in pizza preparation, such as calzone and stromboli.

Pizza (Hindi: पिज़्ज़ा) is an Indian Hindi supernatural thriller film directed by Akshay Akkineni. The film stars Akshay Oberoi, Parvathy Omanakuttan and Dipannita Sharma in the lead roles, while Arunoday Singh, Rajesh Sharma, Omkar Das Manikpuri and Sonali Sachdev play supporting roles. The film is a remake of 2012 Tamil film, Pizza, directed by Karthik Subbaraj and was released on 18 July 2014.

Plot

Pizza (EP)

Pizza is a concept EP and the third by Horse the Band, released September 5, 2006 through Koch Records. The EP was recorded in place of Horse the Band not finishing their time on The Stampeading Machines Tour. 550 limited edition copies of the EP were pressed in the 10" vinyl format, sold in cardboard pizza boxes, on the band's label LIF Records.

Overview

According to the band's MySpace blog, Horse the Band ended their time on "The Stampeding Machines Tour", almost halfway through in order to record the EP. One of their bulletins states:

We couldn't decide if we should stay in Chicago and keep eating pizza for the rest of our lives. But after two days of rigorous theory, we realized we had to write divine music about the pizza. We decided to drive home immediately and write and record a 5-song EP called "Pizza" before Sounds of the Underground and Warped Tour started. God was there."

While recording the EP, fans sent Horse the Band pizza and are included in the liner notes. As a joke, while playing a 2007 show in Chicago, singer Nathan Winneke blamed the crowd (and the city itself) for being responsible for the EP, in a mockingly unaffectionate tone. The band then proceeded to play the song "Anti-Pizza".

Pizza (2005 film)

Pizza is a 2005 coming-of-age independent film written and directed by Mark Christopher, filmed in and around Milford, Pennsylvania in 2003. It was screened at the Seattle International Film Festival on May 27, 2005 and had a limited release on January 20, 2006. The region 1 DVD was released on October 24, 2006.

Plot

Cara-Ethyl (Kylie Sparks) is an eccentric and sheltered girl on the eve of her eighteenth birthday who desperately dreams of an exciting life. But she's left with her blind, clueless (but well-meaning) mother (Julie Hagerty), a pest of a brother and made-up friends (Cara pretends she has a friend for her mother).

All that is changed when the pizza man, Matt Firenze (Ethan Embry), comes to the door. Soon, Cara persuades Matt to allow her to go with him on his deliveries. As the night progresses, Cara-Ethyl and Matt impart their wisdom and learn from each other, and both are forced to evaluate their lives.
