Hi Mecha, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started my company with SlapStik Comedy Magazine. I used to write reviews for the Columbus Funny Bone. I started networking with comedians and they suggested that I add SlapStik Comedy Radio and SlapStik Comedy TV. I used to write press releases for comedians at no charge, and that helped me connect with comedians because most of the press releases were for TV appearances. When I started SlapStik Comedy TV, I used the stage at the Columbus Funny Bone. I started recording SlapStik Comedy Radio in the living room in my home.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road at all. I’ve sacrificed a lot to grow my business. After I have completed a work, I then put the money back into my business. I take pride in being “self-made.” I have built my business from ground up and I never had an investor. My business has challenged me, and that helped me grow.

Mecha Media is my production company. I created a platform called SlapStik Comedy Entertainment to showcase comedians through SlapStik Comedy Magazine, Radio, and TV. I have my own studio where I create content. In my studio, there is an office, a podcast room, and a green screen room. I started my business on my own. I have been involved with media work since 7th grade. I was a news anchor for Clark Middle School during my 7th and 8th-grade years. I have a great team and we work day in and day out to create content.
How do you think about luck?
Today, I thanked GOD that my company and my brand is taken seriously. I recently rewrote my content strategy to where my team and I are working with more creatives in the industry and comedians. It’s nice that when we submit an interview request, we receive a response. I’m thankful to see our numbers grown in the backend. Our audience is growing on social media, our website, and our blog.
