Prime Video has revealed a global premiere for anticipated Indian horror sequel “Chhorii 2.”
Following the critical and audience success of 2021’s “Chhorii,” which blended supernatural elements with Indian folklore, the follow-up promises to amplify the scares while continuing the story of a mother’s battle against both paranormal forces and societal evils.
Director Vishal Furia returns to helm the project, with Nushrratt Bharuccha reprising her role as protagonist Sakshi. Soha Ali Khan joins the franchise in what’s described as a pivotal role, with the supporting cast featuring Gashmeer Mahajani, Saurabh Goyal, Pallavi Ajay, Kuldeep Sareen and Hardika Sharma.
“With ‘Chhorii,’ we introduced audiences to a story that was deeply intriguing yet emotionally powerful,” said Manish Menghani, director of content licensing at Prime Video India. “The film struck a perfect chord with cinephiles of the horror genre, blending fear with folklore in a way that felt fresh and authentic.”

Menghani added that the sequel would be “darker, more intense, and replete with more twists and turns,” positioning it as part of Prime Video’s strategy to diversify its storytelling approach.
The project represents a continued collaboration between production companies T-Series, Abundantia Entertainment, Psych, and Tamarisk Lane.
“The overwhelming love and appreciation for the first film encouraged us to expand this universe with ‘Chhorii 2,’ where the horror intensifies, and the battle for survival becomes even more personal and dangerous,” said Vikram Malhotra, founder and CEO of Abundantia Entertainment.
The film will be available exclusively on Prime Video across more than 240 countries and territories worldwide beginning April 11.
