Fifth Season has secured global distribution rights, excluding the Nordics, to “Vaka,” a six-part dystopian thriller series from Skybound Entertainment, the company behind “Invincible” and “The Walking Dead.” The show will premiere on Prime Video in the Nordics.

“Vaka” stars the International Emmy-award nominated Jonas Karlsson (“The Snowman,” “Harmonica,” “Detaljer”) and Aliette Opheim (“The Dark Heart,” “The Congregation,” “Caliphate”).

The series is directed by Henrik Georgsson, who is best known for BAFTA-nominated crime drama “The Bridge,” and written by Brynja Björk and Pauline Wolff, and created by Björk. It is produced in collaboration between Amazon MGM Studios, Unlimited Stories, Sagafilm and Skybound.
