Based on clinical experience and through the application of the IPM/PICI, Deca, PDM, PHEM and PPP-DNA models, it was found that all disorders in the neurotic area had anxiety traits in common and that symptoms of the six different disorders were often present in comorbidity. This assumption led to the hypothesis of a different and better way to group them into one all-encompassing category: "Neurotic Personality Disorder" (NPD). Based on this construct, it is suggested to perform the same nosographic operations for the other personality disorders, grouping 7 personality disorders (bipolar, depressive, borderline, histrionic, narcissistic, antisocial, psychopathic) from the psychopathological area related to Cluster B of DSM-5-TR and PICI-3 into "Dramatic Personality Disorder" (DPD) and 4 other personality disorders (delusional, paranoid, dissociative, schizophrenic spectrum) from the psychopathological area related to Cluster A of DSM-5-TR and Cluster C of PICI-3 into "Psychotic Personality Disorder" (PPD). This paper aims to suggest their use to facilitate psychopathological framing.

Introduction: Behavior is the consequence of cognitive processes that originate from multifactori... more Introduction: Behavior is the consequence of cognitive processes that originate from multifactorial products, such as genetic predisposition, education received, and experience gained from the family and social context of reference. The defi ciency or defect of one or more of these factors could cause psychopathological shaping in the individual that can foster or nurture deviant or antisocial behavior. It is necessary to investigate what are the main factors underlying the criminal phenomenon. Materials and methods: The literature up to August 2024 was reviewed and 40 articles were included in the research. The survey was conducted through the administration of an experimental Questionnaire-type sociological survey (QA2CPICB). Results: In this pilot study, a population of 49 individuals (42 males and 7 females) most with criminal records and currently addicted to narcotic substances / drugs / alcohol, aged between 24 and 57 years (M: 39.7; SD: 9.1), residents or permanent residents of the "Emmanuel" Communities of the Apulia Region (Italy), were selected. The variable of age is negatively correlated with the areas investigated by the QA2CPICB (as age increases, the impact of the factors investigated decreases). Conclusion: Variables that can describe lived life infl uences (such as traumatic childhood events, critical family and work issues, economic poverty in adulthood, and lack of stable and lasting affective-emotional support), psychiatric disorders, and social-environmental infl uences (such as degraded, poor, and/or criminal family and social environment) are negatively correlated with the age variable and serve as positive reinforcers for maintaining the pathological state of drug addiction and engaging in deviant or criminal conduct to procure the necessary economic liquidity. Early intervention, reeducation and economic-work support can act as a deterrent and negative reinforcer on drug addiction, promoting patient recovery and limiting further legally relevant behavior in the justice system. Key points 1. The social-environmental factor plays a central role in maintaining criminal conduct. 2. Criminal conduct is the prerequisite for nurturing the substance-dependence state of drug addicts. 3. Early intervention, reeducation and economic-work support can act as a deterrent and negative reinforcer on drug addiction, promoting patient recovery and limiting further legally relevant behavior in the justice system.

It is worth investigating and assessing the specific weight of other morbid conditions involved, beyond OCD. Materials and Methods: This study was conducted during 2022–2023 by selecting 208 Italian clinical patients from private databases. They submitted to individual clinical interviews and two psychometric questionnaires (Perrotta Integrative Clinical Interviews 3, PICI-3-TA, and Perrotta Individual Sexual Matrix Questionnaire, PSM-Q). Results: Among the 208 patients (M: 39.05 years), divided into subgroups by age and obsessive symptomatology, no significant differences were found between the subgroups in the comparisons of the data obtained from the administration of the PSM-Q. Conclusions: This study confirms that it is not OCD that correlates with OA but obsessive traits, which are also common to other psychopathological disorders, such as bipolar disorder, borderline disorder, manic, and psychotic disorders and, therefore, in psychotherapy, it is necessary to intervene with a clinical approach that has in mind the patient’s psychopathological personality picture and the causes that originated or reinforced OA.

Introduction: Social norms represent the system of expectations of a community at a given point i... more Introduction: Social norms represent the system of expectations of a community at a given point in time. Based on the education received and lived life experiences, everyone reacts to social norms with conformity or rebellion. Whether or not one adapts to a new social norm depends on many factors, which have been studied in the social-anthropological field but not yet fully explored in scientific literature. Method: The clinical population sample (CG) that was selected for this pilot study consisted of 60 Italian participants (30 males; 30 females), aged 18 to 77 years (M: 47.5; SD: 17.0). Through a clinical interview and administration of the Perrotta Integrative Clinical Interviews, version TA-3 (PICI-TA-3), the included adult patients were analyzed, based on the experiment described in the protocol. A control group (Cg) with the same characteristics was constructed, in the absence of positive clinical data for a personality disorder identified by the PICI-TA-3, for a total of 120 participants (60 males; 60 females). Results: In the clinical group (CG), subjects in the neurotic subgroup (pure anxious, phobic-obsessive and manic) responded to the acquisition of the new social rule within the third positive reinforcement stimulus, while subjects in the psychotic subgroup (paranoid-delusional, dissociated and schizophrenic spectrum) in some cases responded within the second stimulus while others hyperactivated and stopped the experiment; finally, subjects in the dramatic subgroup (depressive, bipolar, borderline, narcissistic-histrionic, antisocial-psychopathic) partly responded after the third stimulus or with attitudes of rebellion or contrariness, seeking clarification, explanation, or resistance in the social group. Conclusions: The research data showed that the acquisition of a new social rule is conditioned by several subjective factors, including structural and functional personality profiles.

Tic disorders represent a developmental neuropsychiatric condition whose causes can be attributed... more Tic disorders represent a developmental neuropsychiatric condition whose causes can be attributed to a variety of environmental, neurobiological, and genetic factors. From a neurophysiological perspective, the disorder has classically been associated with neurochemical imbalances (particularly dopamine and serotonin) and structural and functional alterations affecting, in particular, brain areas and circuits involved in the processing and coordination of movements: the basal ganglia, thalamus, motor cortical area, and cingulate cortex; however, more recent research is demonstrating the involvement of many more brain regions and neurotransmission systems than previously observed, such as the prefrontal cortex and cerebellum. In this paper, therefore, we summarize the evidence to date on these abnormalities with the intent to illustrate and clarify the main neuroanatomical differences between patients with tic disorders and healthy individuals.

Introduction: Unresolved childhood traumas can negatively affect an individual's psychophysical g... more Introduction: Unresolved childhood traumas can negatively affect an individual's psychophysical growth. Correlations between these events and the onset of psychopathologies are not yet fully known in the literature. Attachment theory attempts to explain the effects of maternal deprivation and the negative impact of traumatic events on psychophysical growth, but without succeeding in this endeavor. For this reason, a new psychometric instrument, the Perrotta Evolutionary Attachment Questionnaire (PEA-Q1), has been developed with the intent of filling this gap. Materials and Methods: A theory and model related to the topic under investigation were generated with a questionnaire (PEA-Q) to be administered to a selected population. After conducting the clinical interview and administration of the new questionnaire, the data were compared with the results of the administration of the "Separation Anxiety Test" (SAT) about the population sample with age <18 years and the "Adult Attachment Interview" (AAI) for adults to validate the proposed psychometric instrument. Results: Statistical analysis showed that the psychometric test has a well-defined and stable construct (R=0.999; p<0.001), with the variables well represented (R=0.999; p<0.001) and positively correlated with another construct already validated (R=0.903; p<0.001). Conclusions: PEA-Q1 is a valid, efficient and stable psychometric instrument for investigating attachment profiles in all developmental stages of the individual.

Therefore, we identified the need to analyze this phenomenon with an emphasis on the risks and correlates related to deviance and maladjustment from a prospective perspective, seeking to understand the impact of the individual variables examined. Aim: To demonstrate whether the condition of “gaming non-pathological abuse” (GNPA) promotes psychopathological features of clinical interest, in the absence of a diagnosis of “gaming disorder” (GD). Materials and methods: A search performed on PubMed and administration of an ad hoc sociological questionnaire were used to investigate individual variables of criminological interest in a representative population sample (531 males/females, 8–18 years old, M: 14.4, SD: 2.5). Results: Statistical analysis showed that after the pandemic period, digital video game addiction was reinforced, feeding psychopathological traits consistent with anxiety, emotional disorders, and mood disorders. Variables correlated with impulsive, aggressive, and violent behavior related to age, gender, socio-environmental and economic background, and the severity of digital video game addiction. Conclusions: In the youth population (8–18 years), “gaming non-pathological abuse” (GNPA) is related to aggressive, impulsive and violent behaviors that foster phenomena of social maladjustment and deviance, especially in individuals living in disadvantaged or otherwise complex socio-economic and family contexts. Looking forward, the study of structural and functional personality profiles is essential in order to anticipate and reduce the future risk of psychopathological and criminal behavior.

This narrative review focuses on the newly proposed psychometric instrument (Perrotta Evolutionary Attachment Questionnaire, PEA-Q1), for adolescents (14-17 years) and adults (18-90 years), which can fill this gap and can help the therapist shed light on the deeper childhood aspects of the patient undergoing clinical psychotherapy.

Much attention is paid in the literature to the psychological profiles associated with ostomies, but until 2022 there was a lack of a psychoclinic instrument that was able to investigate all 9 individual subjective functions possibly impaired by the ostomate condition and the degree of impairment. For this reason, "Perrotta-Guerrieri Psychological Care for Ostomy Patients" (PCOP) was developed for all clinical phases, in 45 items with an L1-5 response scale, for the study of quality of life in the ostomized patient, which was also able to offer from the therapist a holistic understanding of the problem in all its phases (pre-operative, operative, postoperative, follow-up), integrating a patient-specific clinical intervention protocol. Materials and Methods. Clinical interview and battery of psychometric questionnaires. Results. Of 58 patients (M: 57.3 years), divided into two groups (CG and Cg) of equal distribution, the group in which the protocol was applied (CG) achieved quantifiable benefits to the extent of 50-75% individually and 97% in the total group. Conclusions. PCOP is a psychoclinical tool that can offer therapists the opportunity to explore the issue of patient quality of life and best focus on the most appropriate and targeted clinical intervention.

Objectives. To develop and adjust a psychometric tool that can be efficient and effective in solving the analysis of a coefficient of couple relational stability. Materials and Methods: Clinical interview, based on narrative-anamnestic and documentary evidence, and battery of psychometric tests. Results: In CGa, those who scored more than 20% differential at PLS-Q1 were 58/118 (69%), while in CGb they were 118/118 (100%). In therapy, in the CGa, the resolved cases were 58/58 (100%), while in the CGb, the resolved cases were 110/118 (93%). At the clinical interview, it was found that the 8/118 (7%) "resistant" patients had, according to the PICI-3 model, a diagnosis of borderline personality disorder (5/8, 63%), histrionicnarcissistic (2/8, 25%), and bipolar (1/8, 12%), and thus by their nature not very prone to therapeutic adherence. Conclusions: Perrotta Love Stability Questionnaire (PLS-Q1) is a psychometric tool that offers therapists the opportunity to explore the topic of couple relationship stability, helping them to better focus on patients' vulnerable emotional positions to construct the most appropriate and targeted clinical intervention.

The Perrotta Integrative Clinical Interviews-3 (PICI-3) was created and structured into four sections, dedicated to dysfunctional traits in children and pre-adolescents (PICI-C-3, 8–13 years) and in adolescents, adults, and the elderly (PICI-TA-3, 14–90 years), to common secondary disorders (PICI-DS-3, 8–90 years) and functional traits (PICI-FT-3, 8–90 years), with the identification of all functional elements and structural aspects of personality according to the model underlying the PICI (IPM). Selecting 1732 subjects, between 8 and 90 years old, the statistical analysis showed that the psychometric test has a well-defined and stable construct, with the variables well represented and positively correlated with other constructs already validated. In particular: (a) the PICI-TA-3 (Section A) was compared with the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2-Restructured Form (MMPI-2-RF), obtaining 99.3% compatibility of results, with a Pearson's coefficient (R) of 0.999 and p < 0.001; (b) the PICI-C-3 (Section B) was compared with the Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL), obtaining 94.1% compatibility of results, with a Pearson coefficient (R) of 0.969 and p < 0.001; (c) the PICI-FT-3 (Section D) was compared with the Big Five Personality Test (Big5), obtaining 89.4% compatibility of results, with a Pearson coefficient (R) of 0.797 and p < 0.001. The PICI-3 is a valid, efficient, and effective psychometric tool to identify the functioning or dysfunction of personality traits for psychopathological diagnosis.

METODOLOGY: All clinical trials, meta-analyses, and randomized controlled trials on PubMed were selected through March 30, 2023, for a useful total of 62 studies, for the purpose of narrative revision.
RESULTS: In neonatology and pediatrics, there has been an increase in the last decade, especially in Italy, of remote telemedicine consultation activities (via messaging, televisiting, telemonitoring, coaching, and telehealth), especially in terms of follow-up; however, these the advantages come up against a number of limitations: a) the lack of
technical knowledge of the tools used for applied telemedicine; b) the costs of supporting, operating and maintaining the material instrumental network; c) the subjective cognitive distortions of the user and/or his or her family, related to the complication or uselessness of the new technologies compared to traditional methods of healthcare
consultation and delivery; d) the non-applicability of the new technological measures related to telemedicine in the case of medical visits that require physical contact; e) a good part of the published studies have structural errors in the construction phase of the research design, effectively vitiating the final result, as happens in the hypotheses of reduced or insufficient population sample with respect to representativeness, conflict of interest with respect to the hypotheses of publicity of the specific IT tool devised and used by the research team, and satisfaction questionnaires of dubious statistical usefulness.
CONCLUSIONS: Significant evidence emerges concerning the importance of using new information technology in the service of medicine, albeit with several practical criticalities, to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of health service, both concerning social and economic contexts, for Neonatology and Pediatrics departments

In recent decades, pediatrics has been trying to find out whether the use of omega-3/omega-6 has effects on human growth and neurodevelopment.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total of 44 original articles on the topic of omega-3/omega-6 and human growth and nutrition, in gynecology and pediatrics have been selected on PubMed from January 1979 until March 2023.
RESULTS: Significant critical issues emerged regarding published studies, despite encouraging evidence on the usefulness of omega-3/omega-6 used in pregnancy, lactation, states of malnutrition, and inflammatory processes, while data on the efficacy of use in fetal, neonatal, and pediatric patients are conflicting. Critical structural and functional issues emerge in the studies that may call into question the validity of the results.
CONCLUSIONS: The data are encouraging and suggest that certain aspects of the type of administration and dosages of omega-3/omega-6 fatty acid supplementation should be investigated further to help demonstrate the clinical validity of such prescriptions, especially in terms of gestational maturation, growth, and human nutrition in clinical practice in Gynecology and Pediatrics.

It represents the most frequent primary tumor of the urogenital tract in childhood, and treatment consists of surgery and chemo-radiotherapy. However, concerning quality of life, the new therapeutic frontier is exploring other safer and potentially more effective options, such as minimally invasive surgery and biological drugs. Method: Literature (PubMed) from January 2013 to July 2023 was reviewed, checking for innovations in diagnosis and treatment. Results: A total of 130 articles were included in the review. Conclusion: In addition to the therapeutic strategies already identified, such as classic surgery and pharmacological therapies, recent studies focus attention on the new frontiers of minimally invasive surgery, such as diagnostics using biomarkers and immunotherapy, which could represent a new therapeutic option and is
possibly less risky than in the past, contributing in fact to the current knowledge of the scientific panorama in terms of “tumor microenvironment” and systemic implications deriving from oncological

The interview aims to analyze the risk of burnout in individuals who work in both the private and public sectors and who for reasons of service may be put under pressure, even if they have passed the medical and psychiatric examination. It is therefore proposed as a tool for investigation, prevention, and clinical evaluation of burnout syndrome in its clinical signs, thus bridging the critical issues noted in the current psychometric instruments dedicated to
the subject under consideration.

Early educational intervention, prevention in all its forms and the use of therapeutic corrective tools can encourage expected and expected behavioral improvement, especially in subjects who are still not adults and with a family and social environment that responds to corrective stimuli. Understanding such passages is functional from a strategic point of view, to prevent, educate, plan, intervene, and/or correct certain psychopathological inclinations, also from a socio-environmental, family, and personal perspective.

There is a need to update theories and models to make them more consistent and modern with recent innovations in psychotherapy. Materials and methods: A model related to the functioning of defense mechanisms was generated and the Perrotta Human Defence Mechanisms Questionnaire (PDM-Q-v2) was created to be administered to a selected population to compare it with the Defense Mechanisms Rating Scales-Self-Report-30 (DMRSSR-30) and finally validate it. Results: Statistical analysis showed that the psychometric test has a well-defined and stable construct (r = 0.999; p ≤ 0.001), with the variables well represented (r = 0.818; p ≤ 0.001) and positively correlated with another construct already validated (r = 0.766; p ≤ 0.001). Conclusion: The Perrotta Human Defense Mechanisms Questionnaire (PDM-Q-v2) is a valid, efficient, and effective psychometric tool to identify the functioning or dysfunction of psychological ego defense mechanisms.

Aim: To check whether the PHEM-2 can be structured into a psychometric tool that assesses the subject's emotional intelligence to calibrate the most appropriate psychotherapeutic intervention for the specific case. Methods: Clinical interview, based on narrative-anamnestic and documentary evidence, and battery of psychometric tests. Results: The PHE-Q-1 demonstrated its clinical usefulness during psychotherapy sessions to improve the patient's emotional capacity and confirmed its validity relative to statistical comparison, reporting an R = 0.999 and p ≤ 0.001. Conclusion: The validity of PHE-Q-1 in investigating the emotional component of human intelligence and its clinical utility concerning one's level of cognitive-emotional dissonance and PHEM-2, during psychotherapeutic encounters conducted according to the brief or otherwise integrated strategic approach, is confirmed.

Methods: Using the PAD-M, the population was selected to validate a new psychometric test, then compared with the Love Addiction Screening Test (LAST). Results: Statistical analysis showed that the psychometric test has a well-defi ned and stable construct (R = 0.999; p ≤ 0.001), with the variables well represented (R = 0.955; p ≤ 0.001) and positively correlated with another construct already validated (R = 0.961; p ≤ 0.001). Conclusion: The Perrotta Affective Dependence Questionnaire (PAD-Q) is a valid, effi cient, and effective psychometric tool to diagnose the clinically relevant condition of affective dependence to improve the structural and functional framing of the patient and the appropriate therapy to pursue.
