Absolutely atrocious

Absolutely atrocious. Need to complain but they’re being ridiculously unhelpful after our 3 month old freezer ruined £80 worth of food. Freezer has been written off and we can’t get an email to complain. Will NEVER use Hotpoint again. Disgusted. Fuming. Had 4 weeks with no appliance. Spent £270 on this piece of 💩

Appalling customer service and 4 weeks to sort

It has taken 4 weeks from first contact to get the issue resolved. Communication was horrendous. The initial contact saw an engineer come out within 2 days. However he wrongly diagnosed an issue and we had to wait for the parts to be ordered. It took 2 weeks for the part to arrive. I never received any texts to advise of appointment time. I had to logon to find out appointment time. On the morning of the 2nd appointment it advised morning appointment. When the time arrived and I logged on again for the appointment date to have changed. No communication or consultation. I had to use live chat to find out why. Only to be told the parts were damaged, there was nothing that could be done and it had affected lots of customers. I had taken the day off work for the appointment! I had to take another day off. The engineer arrived yesterday expecting to replace a major part of the washing machine and it turns out that this was not the case and it was a simple fix that he had managed to do there and then. The original engineer had not diagnosed the correct fault! All that time and days off wasted when it could have been fixed within 2 days on the first appointment. Very disappointing. The communication has been appalling and it was only when I complained that I was told that my mobile number hadn’t been added to the service appointment - even though they had it!

NO AFTER SALES WHATSOEVER

Awful, never buy HOTPOINT again, ever! BRAND new washing machine and doesn’t spin. Bought for my brother who has dementia and keeps forgetting he has to put on another spin cycle after it’s washed (then having to change the dial to just spin and change the spin revs) and is putting out soaking wet clothes, has carers who know this but tries to do his own washing sometimes
Tried to call the 10 different numbers on the website, they all go through to the same call centre who never pick up, 2.5 hours on 3 calls! Nobody ever picks up! Found 2 complaint addresses, both emails bounced back. NEVER EVER BUY HOTPOINT. Very very quick to take your cash as a lot of companies these days sadly, NO after sales whatsoever, they should be ashamed!

7 months are passed. Never work properly


My house came with a built-in Hotpoint fridge, but it’s never cooled properly.

The first repairman replaced the refrigerant (“gas”). After five days, it finally started cooling — but then it became noisy and started beeping.

The second repairman never showed up. He said 'I wasn't at home'. I was at home, and also, I have a dog. If there is a stranger, he will bark!

The third repairman told me, “It’s starting to cool down, so just wait another month. You’re under warranty.”

Now it’s back to not cooling enough, still beeping, and still noisy.

I just want it fixed, but every time I contact support, they seem more interested in selling me extra paid insurance than actually repairing it.

Before selling me anything, just fix the fridge.
I wish my house didn’t come with a Hotpoint.

Washer broke completely after 5…

Washer broke completely after 5 months,like mission impossible to get to speak to someone. 30 minutes for someone to even bother to answer on live chat, when they did the messages were 10 minutes apart and all he said was here’s a number to ring! What’s the point in live chat?? Rang and kept getting told we’re busy can’t take your call! Can’t even wait in a line, then when I did get through just constant passing around and listening to music and never an actual

buying warranty

dishwasher started to not clean after 2 years and 10 days. called 3 times to be told by automated caller that no one was available and phone put down. managed online chat and after 30 mins wait i arranged an appt for someone to call me about a warranty. waited for that appt then when they called me the agent asked me lots of Qs and then put me through to D&G for another 20 min on hold wait. Awful

Very bad experience still ongoing.

I tried to place an order on a Thursday for a spare part, their website for me was being obstructive, I spent over an hour trying to place the order. It was working perfectly well to find the correct part, but actually trying to order the part was unsuccessful until 2 am.
When I woke up Hotpoint had cancelled my order because once again my payment hadn't gone through. I eventually got my order placed at some time on Friday morning. Unfortunately for me, the delivery date was over a week-not the 5 days stated on their website.
I actually found the part elsewhere and much quicker to get hold of, so I contacted Hotpoint to cancel the order I had placed with them and request a refund.
Initially I was passed from pillar to post, as no-one whom I spoke with could deal with a cancellation and refund. When I was finally connected to someone who supposedly could perform this simple task, they told me that Hotpoint had not taken the money from my account SO IT WOULD NOT BE TAKEN. I replied it had, but he assured me that as Hotpoint hadn't received it, it was still in the process the money would not be taken from my account. It has been taken and once again it is impossible to get through to Hotpoint, you spend ages on the phone, having to press a lot of different numbers, to go through a lot of recorded messages, and told to use their website, their live chat, whatsapp and request a text message from one of their other bots. I am so fed up with this, all companies try to fob us off with this, and when you try it, you get told you need to speak with a customer services representative. It is just time wasting, and rubbish replacement of people that does not work and I as a customer DO NOT WANT.
Anyway, the long and the short of it is I am still waiting to get through to Hotpoint, to find out when they are going to replace funds taken from my bank account. I am considering getting in tuch with trading standards regarding this, so I will look into this option.

Paul from hotpoint was supposed to come…

Paul from hotpoint was supposed to come and repair my dryer today , booked through Domestic and general. 4.29pn I get a text to say engineer came and I wasn’t home?! I have been home all day and have a ring bell that records and nothing! Contacted hotpoint who contacted engineer within 7 minutes and guess what driver didn’t answer. What a surprise and shock! No not really , the truth the engineer could not be bothered and Hotpoint or Domestic and General said the best we can do is rebook and log a complaint - absolutely useless companies and should not be allowed to trade.

Their online chat is so slow it's…

Their online chat is so slow it's unusable.
No email address for my query.
Trying to order parts for my Hotpoint product and I want confirmation they're the correct parts.
Your call centre wait times are too long.
Impossible to get any where.

Customer services was poor when I bought the product and hasn't improved since.
Won't buy another Hotpoint whilst it's like this.

Poor engineer guidance

I’ve tried to do this through their website but doesn’t allow you to send an email or makes it difficult.

Steffan engineer came out to view my fridge freezer took one look at it and said turn it off and on… which we did let it sit for 3 days turned back on problem still persisted. Fridge isn’t cold.

Another week goes by another engineer Darren. Amazing person! This is no reflection on him quite the opposite if there’s a chance to give him a raise or bonus please do as he identified the problem straight away and has ordered sorts to ensure it gets fixed.

My complaint is Steffan who barely looked at the fridge freezer before diagnosing the wrong problem. It felt like because I chose to pay monthly into a subscription Hotpoint wanted to make sure I got through the first month so I had to continue you paying. He didn’t even check half the thing Darren did. Darren said it’s quite obvious of the problem and he felt we were wrongly advised

So now I am 3 weeks without a fridge which is challenging with two kids under 4

Terrible experience

Terrible experience, first approach the drivers damaged the fridge and the wall and so had to take another extra day off to be at home, stay without a fridge for a couple of days until a new fridge delivered, no gesture of goodwill compensation rather than the extension of the insurance on the fridge which was futile.

I can't actually believe how AWFUL this…

I can't actually believe how AWFUL this company is. I booked a basic repair and PAID £149 for the service. The engineer didn't bother to show up but phoned me for 1 second from a 'no caller id' phone to pretend that he made an attempt at getting in touch. Their online chat does not work - I got through to a human being then he disconnected me. I was on the phone for 47 minutes being transferred from wrong department to wrong department until someone hung up on me. I am disgusted that Hotpoint is allowed to operate like this without consequence. It is against the law to take money and not provide a service.

This got to be the worse machine ever…

This got to be the worse machine ever or I was unlucky, either way, never again!
My machine is 3 years old. in the past few months I noticed a peeling (rusting) next to the door on the outside. I now realised that there is a tiny leak from the ring around the door where water has been leaking. Only noticed due to a dye which made the leak visible. There are other issues with this machine, for example sometimes it will not spin so the clothes are soaking wet and need to go again. Clothes in some cycles are not washed well, there is not enough water. I live alone so not many clothes to wash. I understand now the letters and phone calls from them, trying to get me to buy their insurance for my appliance. They obviously know their products are not made to last.Rubbish really.
