The transition to fully digital phone services is well underway for BT, Openreach, and other ISPs. Today other tech news overshadowed this important piece of news: Ofcom has mandated that, starting in January 2025, UK operators disclose mid-contract price increases "in pounds and pence" at the start of the contract. Vodafone of course had already announced it would be doing so starting earlier. Telcos have their narrative as to why consumers should pay more for the connectivity they use, not least because telecoms make large infrastructure investments. But ultimately, telcos need to accept that in most markets their core consumer business has reached its potential, and now they need to look for innovative services, beyond core connectivity, to grow their share of consumers' wallets. He's right, the UK is a country of some tremendously talented people and potential that it has been seriously under performing. I feel the same when I look at Europeans as I travel Europe. They are a very beautiful, intelligent and talented peoples with a long and rich history evident in their ancestral architecture. Their decline is cultural, political (universal suffrage) and birth rates - it is not a natural decline caused by a lack of talent, although that will certainly manifest ever more genetically due to Idiocratic birth rate imbalances that have resulted. I am one of the very few people I know who has personally far exceeded European low birth rates, but it's not enough for a few top percenters to be the exception to the average rule. Anyway, back to the video... $20 Billion borrowed in one month!! As an expat I have no intention of paying that back in taxes. UK peeps, expect your taxes to go up, especially when Labour wins the next election. Sunak cut the election time to stop Reform from building momentum against the Tories. The worst man/woman would burn their country to rule over the ashes.
