Places you're comfortable moving large amounts of money but fraudsters are unlikely to access 🤝 Trusted contacts. If a large transfer is requested your trusted friend must approve. Hugely helpful if your phone is stolen or for vulnerable folks. 🔐 Secret QR codes. Print out a QR code and keep it in a safe place to scan when needed.If these aren't available the fallback is step up KYC. Banking and consumer credit related complaints were the main driver of the rise, with current accounts and credit cards responsible for over 40% of complaints in those sectors. The last few years have been tough. As an FCA-regulated organisation supporting customers who may be struggling with money and their mental health, we’ve seen the impact the last few years have had first-hand. We take pride in ensuring we not only follow guidelines and regulations, but make a point of putting our customers at the heart of everything that we do. At the beginning of last year, we established a dedicated Vulnerable Customer Care team. This team supports customers facing more complex challenges and are trained to ensure that they are going above and beyond to put the customer’s health and wellbeing above all else. That could be through arranging regular customer callbacks and check-ins, ensuring customers have a dedicated case manager so they have a familiar voice at the end of the phone each time, or signposting further specialist support. You never know what someone’s going through, but if you take an interest and ask, you may find you’re able to help ease the burden and make someone who’s struggling feel less alone. #mentalhealthawarenessweek #vulnerablecustomers #customercare #humanfirst #customerfirst

FCA Consumer Duty webinar - One year on - 31/7/2024 #costoflivingcrisis #bifd #productsalesdata #complainthandling The Financial Conduct Authority June 2024 regulatory roundup is out and they have scheduled a #consumerduty webinar for 31 July 2024. The webinar will focus on the impact the Duty has had in its first year, including examples of good practice and areas for improvement. They will look at priorities for the year ahead. Sheldon Mills and Graeme Reynolds of the FCA will be joined by Abby Thomas, Chief Executive and Chief Ombudsman, of the Financial Ombudsman Service. It will be interesting to hear what the Ombudsman has to say with the impact of various FCA interventions likely to stimulate more complaints in different regulated sectors. They have been encouraging feedback on proposals to charge Claims Management Companies and other professional representatives up to £250 to lodge a case, reduced to £75 if the case outcome is in favour of the consumer. This closes on the same day as the general election, the 4 July 2024.
