Good Tuesday morning. Here is today's #sustainableIT and #ClimateTech news for technology partners. Updates for October 22, 2024 include: 1. Research - #NetZero Goals and Manual Processes: Fully 80% of businesses surveyed across Asia, Europe and the Middle East have established #sustainability targets. But of those target setters, roughly 53% continue to rely on manual methods for measuring their progress, an Alibaba Cloud survey found. 2. IT Services:  IBM continues to tout IT sustainability optimization assessments to help customers optimize #datacenter #energyconsumption. 3. Partnership - #GreenOps Cloud Services:  Xebia has signed a five-year Strategic Collaboration Agreement (SCA) with Amazon Web Services (AWS). Together, the two companies plan to serve customers in the Netherlands, UK, Middle East, the United States and central Europe. Key services include migration and application modernization; GreenOps; FinOps; machine learning and #generativeAI; and digital sovereignty. 4. Partnership - Travel and Hospitality:  BeCause is partnering with Global Destination Sustainability Movement (GDS-Movement). Their goal: Help tourism and event organizations, including Convention and Visitor Bureaus (CVBs), Destination Management Organisations (DMOs) and National Tourism Organizations (NTOs), gain insight into their region's sustainable accommodations and offerings. 5. Consulting - Rebrand:  #Advait Infratech Ltd (AIL) will rebrand as Advait Energy Transitions Limited (AETL) in November 2025. The name change reflects AETL's core focus on Power Transmission, Generation and #EnergyTransitions. 6. Annual Report:  #Nikola, a provider of #zeroemissions transportation and energy supply and infrastructure solutions, has released the company's 2023 Sustainability Impact Report. 7. #SolarEnergy Startup: Keep an eye on Aetherflux, a startup that plans to deliver #solarpower from space. Founder and CEO Baiju B. previously co-founded financial trading platform #Robinhood. 8. #Greenwashing Allegations, Fine: The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission charged New York-based investment adviser WisdomTree Asset Management with making misstatements and for compliance failures relating to #ESG-related investments. Without admitting or denying the SEC’s findings, WisdomTree agreed to a cease-and-desist order and censure and to pay a $4 million civil penalty, the #SEC said. 9. M&A - Energy Efficient Chips:  Nanoveu has acquired Embedded A.I. Systems Pte. Ltd (#EMASS), a developer of #energyefficient edge chips. 10. CDP has made significant updates to its disclosure portal in 2024, including integration across all environmental questionnaires and alignment to the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB)'s IFRS S2 Sustainability Standards. CDP remains one of the most widely used and respected sources of information on environmental disclosures across companies, investors, and other stakeholders. We also know it is an investment in time and resources for organizations, but it serves as a great source of information for a number of other efforts, including internal strategic efforts as well as external reporting. The CDP Portal is now open for corporate disclosers for 2024.
