How do you overcome creative blocks and boost innovation?
Fear of failure really is the killer of creativity and innovation. I’ve failed quite a lot. But each time I’ve failed, I’ve learnt. So I’ve also succeeded a lot too. Failure and success are 2 sides of the same coin and often share a rather interesting interdependence. At Nintendo and in Japanese business culture, this concept of continuous improvement called Kaizen is at the heart of a growth mindset. I often think of the fact that it took J K Rowling 12 publisher rejections before finding success with Harry Potter. Fail. Learn. Succeed!
