Reduce the number of parallel projects being done by your teams! Serialising projects (or development of features) forces debate on relative priority of projects. It forces you to think deeper about the outcome or value to generated. Low value ideas will not make it to the top of the priority-queue and eventually get filtered. And then, there are obvious benefits of reduced multi-tasking, simpler project management, simplified development pipelines etc. So even if you are unable to "load" 100% of the team with work; by reducing the number of parallel initiatives: you will most likely actually end up generating more value and impact. An interesting read on Card Fronting and why it is not allowed in Visa. Card fronting is when two or more different Payment Credentials or cards are linked together to complete a single Transaction using Back-to-Back Funding. For example, “front” card is funded transaction-by-transaction from one of the linked payment cards, issued by unrelated issuers. This is strictly prohibited by Visa Rules. Card-fronting is not permitted. No digital wallet operators can support “back-to- back funding” capability when combined with general-purpose payment network products at the “front” of the wallet.No Back-to-Back Funding with Fronting. Day one of #LeadDevLondon complete! What a vibrant community and excellent presentations all around. I'm pleasantly surprised at how many interesting and insightful conversations I've had - thanks to all the new connections I met today 🙏 More thoughts to come (inspired for future writing💡), but for now here's my answers to the reflection prompt at the end of the day: "Most interesting or surprising thing you learned today?" In a fascinating story of The History of The Barbican as a parable about how embracing constraints and leaning into chaos can produce greatness, I learnt all the concrete I've been walking past and ignoring is handmade, incredibly labour intensive pick hammered *luxury* concrete 👷 "One thing you want to do differently when you return to work?" I can't pick just one, so I'll go with revisiting approaches to measuring developer productivity (based on a talk from DX CTO Laura Tacho) and tech debt as innovation - specifically, avoiding suitcase terms in order to name it and fund it (alongside other sage advice from Bruce Wang, Director of Engineering at Netflix Games) Here's to day two of LeadDev! 🤓 #LeadDev

Again Every posting news but not telling what happened same story :) 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐝𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐤𝐞 The driver file is severely bugged, causing frequent system crashes during startup. This results in a boot loop and requires a manual workaround (booting into safe mode and deleting the problematic file). There was a faulty update to CrowdStrike's Falcon Sensor, a core component of their cybersecurity suite, which triggered a compatibility issue with the Windows kernel, leading to system instability and BSODs. CrowdStrike develops and distributes the Falcon Sensor, a cybersecurity application that integrates with Windows. 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 1)Microsoft is responsible for the car's overall performance and safety. 2)CrowdStrike is responsible for the functionality and compatibility of the alarm system with the car. 3)The BSOD incident is akin to the alarm system malfunctioning and causing the car to stallr. 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐝𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐤 1)Exposed a major single point of failure in essential and important services ! 2) More than half the world is down, aeroplanes grounded, banking systems The most serious issue is that we cannot push an update. Each machine requires manual intervention to boot into safe mode and delete the update file. 𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐈𝐒𝐎 1) Critical server must run on both Technologies (Linux and Windows) 2) Prepare PR for How to Handle Customer Trust :) 3) Technology Stack solid 4) Utilized SCA Tools Thank You Prabh Nair for this insight.
