Our Utility Solutions Team strive to provide essential communications for our ethical business customers too - a mix of other co-op's, socially responsible SME’s, not for profit organisations and charities. Co-op's are all about creating a fairer, better world and we work hard to support our people and communities. 100% owned by our Midcounties Co-operative Members, this keeps our focus as Members are at the heart of everything we do. 🎉 We are delighted to share our partnership story with Ecologi | B Corp™, highlighting how as a business we have successfully saved over 4,700 tonnes of CO2 from being emitted and planted over 150,000 trees on behalf of members and customers. Your Co-op have also been addressing how we as a family of businesses can reduce our own carbon footprint. Our successful strides detailed in our case study show that we are on course for our own NetZero target of 2040. Together, we are helping to build a fairer and more sustainable world for all.
How about some inspiration from one of our fantastic Ecologi customers to start your week off? 🌱 The Midcounties Co-operative, publically known as Your Co-op, is a thriving co-operative with businesses in Food, Travel, Childcare, Energy, Telecoms, Post Offices and Flexible Benefits. As an organisation, they’re committed to building a fairer, more sustainable, and ethical future, and as such they had already calculated their business carbon footprint and set science-based targets prior to working with Ecologi. In addition to this, the team at Your Co-op saw a not-to-be-missed opportunity to go even further by integrating climate impact and tree planting into their products. Here’s what they’ve achieved with Ecologi to date: 🌳 Funded the planting of over 150,000 trees ⚡️ Funded nearly 5,000 tonnes of carbon avoidance (CO2e) Stuart Newman, Head of Utilities at Your Co-op, noted that “Ecologi has an incredibly straight-forward and transparent approach, which allows us to provide fully auditable evidence of impact and tree planting purchases.” Your Co-op was recently recognised as a Gold Award winner as part of our For Our Planet Awards, for their outstanding commitment to taking climate action.
