In response to the #NCD Risk Factor Collaboration (NCD-RisC) new data on worldwide #obesity published on World Obesity Day, new correspondence in The Lancet this week reflects on several issues including a thoughtful response from #weightbias scholars to potentially misleading equivalencies around food insecurity and excess food. 📈 Childhood obesity is soaring, with 88% of children with overweight and obesity projected to live in low- and middle-income countries by 2035. 🌍 We need urgent action to protect future generations.

🌍 Obesity: The overlooked crisis in Global Health 🌍 Despite being a major driver of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), obesity remains shockingly overlooked in global health discussions. With over 1 billion people living with obesity, this issue is central to public health, yet it is often ignored or misunderstood. The time for action is now.
